Not only individuals work on responsible consumption: sustainable start-ups are also popping-up to help out! Kitro is one of the inspiring intiatives that was established to help commercial kitchens track and reduce their food waste. Through clever technological innovations they managed to create a smart waste bin that will provide kitchens with analyses of their waste based on data collected through the use of the bin! It's always exciting to see fellow responsible consumption initiatives!

Meet the new team behind the Good Citizen Card! We kicked off the semester by visiting our partner LOT&DAAN, and boy was it good! The GCC gives you a 15% discount on their food and drinks, and they even have special offers for the exam period - we seem to have found the perfect study place! 😍

Have you ever dined in an old train carriage?
Our partner restaurant Gare du Nord is a fully organic vegan bistro located in a quaint and authentic train carriage in the north of the city. They offer lunch dishes like quesadillas and vegan burgers and three or four-course dinner menus that change weekly inspired by different flavors of the world. With the Good Citizen Card you get a 10% discount on food and drinks.
This week’s menu consists of:
- Amuse
- Creamy cauliflower soup with thyme and sunflower seeds
- Eggplant Curry with fried tofu, vegetables and rice served with a fresh avocado salad
- Lychees with sorbet, warm caramel and sesame seeds

Do you want to kick off the new year by trying food that's out of the ordinary and delicious? 🥘
Then you should check out Evergreen Veggies which is the only restaurant in Rotterdam serving South Indian dishes like idli, dosa, and sambar. With the Good Citizen Card, you now get 25% (!) off the entire menu which also includes North Indian dishes🇮🇳
Please note, that if you wish to try the South Indian dishes, you have to let the restaurant know a few days in advance so they have time to prepare the dosa batter and let it ferment properly. Enjoy! 😋
