Communication Studies majors visited Amsterdam, the Hague, and Rotterdam in the Netherlands to study communication in international legal contexts. Remember Erasmus from Comm 300? The Department of Communication Studies congratulates the recipients of the Hauth Center fellowship, Jamie Gilman and Dorri Mang. We also thank the fellowship donors, Luster and Audrey Hauth, for their generous support. The Hauth Center provides communication skills training to students and the community.

Last Thursday, students from the Communication Studies Event Planning class helped at the annual WineBLAST fundraising event. BLAST (Better Learning for All Students Today) is a non-profit organization whose mission is "to improve academic and personal success for at-risk youth through collaboration and innovative approaches to mentoring and learning". The WineBLAST event had a Mardi Gras theme where our CSULB students helped set up for the event and supervise the silent auction, run games, pass out beads and pour wine to help make the evening a successful fundraiser.

Some of our COMM 337 students held an event to support pet adoption, bringing dogs from Adopt & Shop to campus with the hope of finding them homes and collecting donations - check out their good work!

Students got quite the cute treat outside the outpost building on Tuesday morning. As they walked to and from class, a group of various breeds of excited dogs could be seen.
