📍Connectivity goes to Portugal 🌍

▫️After the last three years of Connectivity, all partners gathered in Portugal for the final meeting, in order to reflect on what happened over this period.

▫️This meeting also aimed to finalize the outputs of the project; all of them will be available to everyone who is interested in outdoor activities and non-formal education.

Connectivity project, focuses on outdoor activities as an educational tool to make unemployed adults accessible to the labor market.

Here are some highlights, of the outdoor activities which were implemented by participants during the last meeting in Netherlands.

People chose to challenge themselves by spending a whole day outside, by living this unique experience!

The 4th Connectivity training meeting is here!!

📍People from 6 different countries have gathered in Ommen in order to complete the last part of the project and contribute to its legacy.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Mixed groups of older and new participants who interact and create impact... this is the key element of the project.

In the beginning, we kept running around with plans, we were thinking of perfect exercises that sounded fitting for our groups, we made scripts and scenarios… Still, when standing in front of people, quite often we had no idea what to do… one small change was enough for us to get lost; the groups were different in reality and we had to drop our plans… In some other cases we managed to follow our program plans, still, it seemed like we were not able to create an impact in the long run… Our participants had a lot of fun during the activities that we delivered, but they quickly disappeared after the end… We couldn’t see any lasting results.
For this reason, we decided to try something else…"

We are working on the handbook which describes our working method... with a lot of tips and tricks... stay tuned! 🤓☀️

As a result of the international training events within the framework of Connectivity and their impact on the participants, the Portuguese group has worked intensely since the follow-up of the first meeting, with the aim of sharing the experiences with other young people from the municipality of Cascais. They brought the knowledge and the skills, but mostly the motivation and enthusiasm to reach more people and engage them in meaningful learning experiences.

In partnership with , .it8G, .jovem, and , they have implemented a set of local activities thus sharing and applying the knowledge, methods, and tools of non-formal education that enable the development of the employability skills of young people.

They went further and organized a national mobility project in 2021 and have sustained their work with young people throughout 2022 through a Solidarity Project under the European Solidarity Corps, which will lead to a second national mobility project now in June!

The verb "to accompany" in its etymological meaning derives from the Latin "Cum panis". It suggests sharing the bread with somebody.
And this is the goal of the initiative of Alhassane, director of the Guy-Toffoletti social and cultural center in Bagnolet, a town in the eastern suburbs of Paris, who participated in the first Connectivity meeting, at the very beginning of the pandemic.

“Just after the first lockdown – ​​explains Alhassane – we wanted to set up a friendly and intercultural community. We wanted to create an outdoor activity for this. A collective activity with an added value, because thanks to Connectivity, I have added a new objective to our activities: giving new skills to the participants”.
This is how the director of the Toffoletti center launched an innovative project, the "itinerant bread oven".

Thanks to the availability of Didier, an experienced baker from our town, we have decided to reach out to the inhabitants of Bagnolet. We invited them to literally get their hands dirty by discovering all together the art of bread making with its cultural reinterpretations. It was a really cool and successful activity.”

• The 3rd Connectivity training meeting came to an end!

• During these days around thirty people gathered in Ommen to learn more about being facilitators in order to raise employability.

• They got familiarized with different tools/methods and how to implement them outdoors. They had the opportunity to organize outdoor activities and handle various situations as facilitators.
