❤️❤️

My name is Pauline, and I am married with a daughter and two sons. After living and working in Australia for 14 years, we have now returned to the Netherlands.

For as long as I can remember, I have been involved with, alongside, and working with children. In Australia, I had the privilege of assisting families during challenging moments in their lives, offering them the extra support they needed. I have worked with families of twins or triplets, large families, and parents with newborn babies. As a nanny, I provided support to parents, and as a doula, I assisted during childbirth.

My greatest passion lies in supporting parents in sleep training their babies and children. I am an internationally certified advanced sleep coach by ISSC and recognized by the International Association IACSC. I have also completed and delivered various courses such as prenatal and baby yoga, massage lessons, and the Circle of Security.

Contributing to the well-being of parents and their children is immensely rewarding to me. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than helping care for little ones. I see my service as an emotional embrace for the parent(s). With my cheerful personality and expertise, I hope to assist other parents, and I always look forward to the next opportunity.

I can't wait to meet you!

3 weeks ago I met this lovely boy.
He didn’t sleep unassisted, woke up several times and naps were all over the place.
Now he just sleeps all night, and wakes up happy.

The parents reached out, and together we came up with a plan and on the 2nd night he was already almost able to sleep unassisted.

It is hard to ask for help. It feels like you can’t help your baby and I see tired and sad parents.

It’s hard to have a child that wakes (you) up. Talk to friends, ask for their help and be kind to yourself.

If you are ready to look for a solution don’t hesitate; asking for help can really make a difference ❤️

Dit is Pauline, onze slaapcoach! ✨

Asking for help is sometimes the hardest thing but doing nothing can lead to a breaking point.

Imagine this…💭

You’ve had a long, busy day and haven’t slept for a week. You’re exhausted and want nothing more than a peaceful night.
The only issue is: you’re in the middle of sleep training. The last thing you want right now is to let your baby cry non-stop, right?
You deserve a noise-free night, and they deserve your presence ❤️

Some people think that sleep training means that you should let your baby cry, but this is not true.
On the contrary, I’ve met very few parents who are comfortable with this method.
And to be honest, as a sleep coach, I don’t like this approach either.

Why that is? 🧐

Because we want to make sure that our little ones feel safe in their own room and eventually enjoy going to bed.

As a mom, I know how precious these little bedtime routines can be – a little “I’m here for you and everything’s okay” moment ✨

Of course, it’s not always as great as you want it to be. Your baby has no problem keeping you awake, asking for a kiss, a pacifier, or some milk.
The tricky thing is, if we suddenly change their routines, they end up being confused.

What you can do, though, is make a good scheme and keep a close eye on your baby’s sleep signals 💤

I do this in a very sensitive, but clear way.
This means that the whole family can enjoy some peaceful nights again!

Now, I want to know, how did you sleep train your baby? 😊

What are the key factors in achieving optimal sleep?

If you want your little one to achieve optimal sleep, then clarity and structure are the most important factors 🙏🏼

A clear routine is just as important as the way you respond to your child.
The more consistent you are, the better.

Are you trying to create structure?
Then make sure you add the following things to your list 👇🏾

• Fixed bedtimes
• A fixed ritual
• Regular times for waking

In this way, your baby knows exactly what is happening and what it can expect.
Not only will they benefit from it, but it’ll also help you ❤️
You create a new, clear pattern that will give you peace of mind.

Do you feel like creating structure has helped your family?

I’d love to know ✨

The day we went for a sleep study 🩺

I will never forget how I felt when my son couldn’t sleep for a long time.
I was totally exhausted and doubting myself a lot.

At first, I thought: it will pass, it’s just a phase.
But then…. doubt started to kick in.
I thought I was doing something wrong 😔
Because if you’ve tried everything but nothing seems to work, then maybe your kid just isn’t able to sleep.
The truth is that 10 to 15 % of kids who experience sleeping problems have a medical condition.
So, after some research, we decided to go for a sleep study.

We went to the hospital at the end of the day.
There were a couple of fun rooms for the kids and playing was allowed.
As you can probably imagine, that comforted me.

After a while, it was time for dinner.
We chose the menu beforehand, so that was very convenient 🙏🏼

When our hunger was satisfied, my son had to brush his teeth and put on his pajamas.
The doctors then placed the electrodes on his head, torso and limbs.

Of course, this looks very strange, but I told my son that he looked like an astronaut or a robot, which really helped him to feel okay ❤️

So, if you’re going through the same difficult situation, my advice would be to try and stay calm.
It might just happen that your kid falls asleep a little here and there.

Is going for a sleep study something you would consider? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to take away any doubts you might have 😘

A little background story 📝

If you’ve been following me for a while, you might know a bit of my story, but if you haven’t, I’m happy to share it with you today.

I’m Pauline, a proud mom of 3 beautiful kids.
However, life as a parent hasn’t always been easy.
One of my kids struggled with health issues and another one had difficulties sleeping 🥱

While facing all sorts of challenges, I’ve been forced to learn new things as a mom.

During the non-sleeping phase of my son and numerous hospital visits, I came up with a plan.
I had worked as a doula and nanny and realized I could combine all the things I had learned through my experiences. And so I did 🙏🏼

Fascinated by the process, I decided to do it the right way and followed-up with a couple of new studies.
This led me to where I am today; an accredited and advanced sleepcoach.

I’m so happy to work as a holistic sleep coach. Thanks to all of the challenges, I’m now helping people from a place of real understanding ❤️
I know what it’s like when your kids don’t want to sleep and how discouraged that can make you feel. There’s always an underlying cause, and I love sorting that out for you with a gentle and holistic approach.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve been facing as a family?

Ah, that lovely feeling when your baby has fallen asleep in your arms 🥰

You’re enjoying the moment, put them down, and then… they wake up.

This happens for two main reasons 👇🏾

• The baby hasn’t reached deep sleep yet.
It takes them up to 20 minutes, so if you disturb them before this time, they wake up easily.

• They think they’re gonna be abandoned.
When you’re not there, your little one’s body senses danger. They feel, through their skin, that something is different. For example: missing the softness of your touch, the heat of your body and the feeling of being protected 🧑🏻‍🍼

So, what can you do?

Try to see it from a different perspective and enjoy the cuddles. They’re only little for such a short amount of time ❤️

When babies are over 6 weeks old they have learned the difference between night and day but night wakings may still happen.

Why is that? Well they are actually important because:

* Your baby has a tiny stomach so it needs to wake in order to make sure enough it is getting enough milk
* Your babies may be hungry, too hot or too cold, have a dirty nappy, experience pain or troubled breathing

Your little one is learning how to cope with all of this so as tiring as they are they do have a function! This does not mean better nights can’t happen! If your nights are full of wakings and sleep is far away, just click on the link in my bio and let us help you get on top of it!
