Euroculture meets Brussels!
Our three-day visit to Brussels in October provided valuable insights, meaningful discussions, and an engaging look at Europe in practice. We began early on Monday with our journey from Groningen, traveling by train via Amsterdam to Brussels. After checking in at the hotel, we headed out for a first walk through the city center and ended the evening with a group dinner to settle in and connect as a team.
On Tuesday, we started the day with a visit to the European Movement International. In the afternoon, we explored the House of European History to learn more about Europe’s past and its political developments. We then continued to the European Parliament for an inside look at how decisions are made at the EU level. In the evening, we met with members of the Euroculture alumni network of EYP Belgium for an inspiring exchange on careers and experiences connected to European affairs.
Wednesday began with our checkout and a visit to the European Commission, where we gained a deeper understanding of current EU priorities and citizen participation. After a shared lunch, we continued with a stop at Acting for Europe before heading back to the station for our return trip. We arrived in Groningen shortly after midnight, tired but full of new impressions.
Three days, many conversations, and countless insights: Brussels offered us a vivid look behind the scenes of European politics and left us inspired and curious for more.
