Dear Ideefiksers,

Since Sinterklaas would be coming to enschede soon, we thought we as Ideefiks could arrange something to celebrate the event with all of you.
On Wednesday Dec 6th at Rubix from 6pm, there will be Poffertjes ,waffles glühwein and more sweets.
Also don't forget/ if possible bring a small 🎁 (5euros or less) that can be exchanged.

Reminder: tomorrow two guest lectures will be given by two candidates for the position of ‘Assistant professor in ethics and/or political philosophy, with a (future) focus on IT.

After attending the lectures, a review of the lectures should be made and submitted (preferibly within 24 hours) to the committee.

Free Summerschool 'IT-driven Social Entrepreneurship'

The University of Twente hosts a great free summer school for aspiring young entrepreneurs!

Startify7 is a series of 7 themed summer academies to support young (18-25) people across Europe interested in digital start ups.
From August 15-26 of 2016, the University of Twente offers on its campus a summer academy on 'IT-driven social Entrepreneurship'.

Thanks to the European Commission funding, participation, and board & lodging are free of charge.

Other free Startify7 summer academies are offered in with the following themes in the following countries:
Video games - Katowice (Poland)
Digital Transportation - Thessaloniki (Griekenland)
Simulations, virtual and augmented reality - Almeria (Spain)

For the more sporty types among you, this might be of interest: http://www.campusloop.nl/inschrijven/ (the website title is indeed Dutch, but on the website itself all information is available in English as well.

A short summary is that this event is a sort of mini-marathon, either 2 or 4 miles. The whole run will be on the university campus. If you think the Batavierenrace is a bit too much or you want to prepare for that, this event is quite good (and also, of course, pretty fun!).

The Bedrijven Dagen are almost upon us and are an excellent way to look at possibilities for your future after you have graduated. The fine folks from the organization have been so kind as to send us this image on which you can see which activities and which companies are especially interesting for PSTS-students. Take a look at what is happening and hopefully we will see you there as well!

We would like to ask you please fill in a very short survey (it's only two questions) about the availability of places to work on projects together or places to study on the University. The survey is hosted by UReka, the official university council of the UT, and they have heard several complaints about said availability of places to study. Via this poll they want to get some information from students about how big the problem really is.

The survey is in Dutch, but because it is important to get as many surveys filled in as possible, here a quick translation of the two questions on the survey and their answers:

1) There are enough available places on the UT to work on group projects: - Agree or - Disagree

2) There are enough places to study available on the UT: - Agree or - Disagree

That's it. If you are yourself at all concerned about the number of (quiet) places to study on the UT or think there is no problem at all, please fill in this survey.
