Tyndale Academy of Ancient Languages (TAAL) is an institution dedicated to teaching biblical languages and other languages that support biblical studies. Inspired by William Tyndale’s passion for God’s

Word and God’s Kingdom, TAAL employs a living language approach, complemented by solid grammatical theory and translation practice. Our vision is to strengthen Biblical language education and Bible translation worldwide, helping students not only learn these languages, but continue using them for a lifetime—so that God’s Word may be understood more deeply and shared more faithfully.

Whether beginning or advanced, we are after one thing: reading fluency. We read, listen, speak, and write our way into the language, and we parse and discuss syntax and discourse alongside it.

Active immersion and explicit grammar. Not one instead of the other.

Alongside reading, speaking, listening, parsing, analysing the syntax, discourse and idiolect of the Gospel of Mark.

Our students copied Greek text onto papyrus the way the ancients did it. Some wrote with modern conventions. Others went full Vaticanus and Sinaiticus.
