Lustrum Team

In the third edition of our introduction of the Lustrum Team, we are so proud to present the one, the only, the impecable Pleun!
While she goes by Pleun here at AUC, her parents call her Pleun Elsa Maria Andriessen. During her youth she, besides dreaming of becoming a princess like everyone else, she really wanted to be a vet. She thought animals were amazing and she had the best dog ever so at that time it seemed the only logical future. Nowadays she follows the international relations and sociology track, and is especially passionate about human rights. However she secretly hoped to be a professional dancer… So even now she's ‘grown up’ she still has no clue where she wants to end up.
Transitioning the conversation to the upcoming Lustrum, Pleun feels she will finally, along with her fellow students, be able to officially celebrate the students' presence at AUC with a classy and extravagant Lustrum event. It will be something more than just a cute dormparty, it is an acknowledgement for all the greatness we establish at this university while being part of the AUCSA. With her experience organizing the beautiful and amazing event Dormfest last year, she decided she wanted another inspiring journey which would lead to a day full of chill vibes, fun, dancing (and excessive alcohol consumption)! "For me it is a challenge to succeed within the position of logistics since I do not have much experience regarding this task." However she is determined to establish a venue which will blow you all away and will make you feel a little like princes and princesses for a day!
Pleun believes you really do not want to miss out on this event, the event aiming to reach extremes. You will see things you have never seen before, you will feel like you never done before… Everyone will thus party like they never ever did before.

She was unwilling to give information regarding her hopes and dreams as she feels Liberal Arts and Science students should never be put into a position where they need to decide on what they want to do with their life.She’s psyched for Lustrum as it’s the first five-year birthday of the AUC Student Association, “it’s like our own birthday!”
Vitto, as many call her, has been involved with many committees since her first year, so she guesses if you wanted to give her - and anyone in the board- a formal name, it would be ‘a very active member of the AUC community’. More informally, they’re are just addicted to fun-stuff. AUCSA offers so many opportunities, TOO many, and she is trying not to miss out on any of them. This is why she wanted to actively contribute for the first AUCSA Lustrum, “I wanna make sure that this party kicks aaaaaass.”

First, she would like to clarify: AUCSA lustrum is NOT the same thing as last year’s AUC Lustrum. What we are going to celebrate this year is not AUC itself, but the students (i.e. YOU!). If you don’t go: 1. You will be basically skipping your own birthday party, and this is just wrong/sad on so many levels, you just don’t wanna do that. 2. You are doomed to drown in FOMO (Fear of Missing out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear_of_missing_out).

“Imagine, you wake up the next morning, probably 200 missed calls from your crush, who actually realised at the party how much she/he missed you, but yeah, too late, you missed the train. And this is when FOMO kicks in, so many stories to share, and you’re not in even ONE of the dramas. So be there, or drown in FOMO, and cry.”
When asked how she would sum up Lustrum in one word she naturally replied: “FOMO. Your biggest Fear is missing out on AUCSA Lustrum.”

The beautiful face you see here, is our lovely Stijn Gabriël. Ever since he grew up he wanted to be a lawyer. So far, at least he himself still thinks he can become one as he’s majoring in Social Sciences with a focus on Law and International Relations. As a member of AUCSA’s Lustrum team, a group of dedicated people prepared to make AUCSA’s very first Lustrum the best it can be, he feels AUC would not be AUC without AUCSA and thus celebrating the fifth birthday of our all-beloved AUCSA should – and is – a big deal! He decided to join the Lustrum team after having done more serious stuff last year in the Student Council. He wanted to spend his last year at AUC on more fun issues, such as Lustrum and TEDx – some shameless promotion going on here. Stijn said: “Both are going to be amazing events and you should definitely come and visit both!” Furthermore, Stijn is convinced that this lustrum is going to be unlike anything AUC has ever experienced before. If it’s up to Stijn, history will be written on this day, and there will be things happening that you never thought were possible. The Lustrum team will take you on a journey outside of the bubble – yes, there is life beyond – and make sure you will have a night of which your memory is so blurry that for once, you will be happy that we had a photographer walking around… When I asked If you would have to sum up all thought, ideas, everything about Lustrum into one word, what would it be?
