Last month on International Women's Day, Bonaparte participated in the Women and Gender Minorities debate Tournament!

It was a fun safe space to debate all kinds of subjects, including some that don't usually come up in other tournaments (see picture 3)👀

One bona member came all the way from Germany to participate in this special tournament- Svea we are all glad you revived your debating career ;)

At the end of the day our very own Matej won (shared) best speaker, with Sophia following closely after in fourth place!

Last month Bona went to the rainy city of Dublin for Trinity IV!

The Bonapartians showed up not only in numbers, but also with skill!

🏆 Our own debate commisioner Matej got to judge the finals. Our chair Lina broke open to the quarter-finals, while Julia and Gio broke to the novice semi-finals!! 🏆

Our OrgComm is putting blood, sweat and tears into organizing a tournament with spicy motions, great food (2 lunches and dinner, all warm :), and of course an amazing social!

It's finally time for the first debate night of this academic year!!
Tuesday 2 September we will all be gathering at Roeterseiland campus again for a fun night of debates, drinks, and fun.
Anyone is welcome to join, member or not.
There will be beginner-courses for anyone new to debating. (And of course a Dutch-room for anyone who prefers debating in Dutch)

Bona at Copenhagen EUDC!

This month our delegation of 11 went to the European University Debating Championships in Copenhagen!

Oana & Irina, Matej & Lina, Emily & Joep, and Roza & Daan represented us as speakers, while Peter, Joie, and Kai judged. Everyone did really well and made us so proud 🫶

We had a lot of fun not just debating, but also exploring the city and spending time together between rounds. We joined (and helped win) the football tournament, dressed up for prom night, partied on a bus, and much more 🥂⚽️🧜‍♀️
