[MAIL ARTS CALLS 📣] If you missed Creative Monday this week or are just interested in Mail Art, know that there are regular 'Mail Art calls' initiative from associations or art collectives around the world. You can find them online quite easily and everyone can participate! Usually it will have a theme and the artworks are exhibited.

Here are 4 projets i think you might like :

1. « Lettres d’Auzay » is a creative lab focused on postal art located in Le Prieuré d’Auzay in France. This year, the theme for Mail Art is Frida Kahlo, your interpretation of Frida might be part of an exhibition on August 22 2023. details : .

2. « Inspiration Bretagne » : Le Carton Voyageur, in Baud, Bretagne has launched a Mail Art call around the theme 'Bretagne' (the most beautiful region in the world..and also mine😉 deadline 12/2023.

3. « Mail Art call for sustainability » in Sardinia - on the theme Sustainable Development, Health and Wellness - deadline 29/08/2023.

Happy to have been able to spend another fun Creative Monday evening. Mail Art is a great theme to explore as it provides a lot of space for creativity whilst also connecting us to others! 🙌

How many of you have heard of Mail Art before? I discovered this art form as a communications student in Lille in 2001. As part of a creative challenge we had to send other students art by the post and they were exhibited afterwards. It was so much fun! I remember sending a sponge by the post 🧽📮And then the internet started and soon the only letters i was writing were basically cover letters 👩🏼‍💼…Who needs to write when you see what everyone is doing on social medias anyway? Living abroad for more than 12 years i have realized lately that i know more about the live and thoughts of some of the bloggers i follow than many of my actual friends, which kind of hurts 🥺 So one of my 'intentions' for this year is to start sending handwritten letters to my friends…And recently the universe started to send me some 'signs' to nudge me to get to it : i suddenly noticed pretty mailboxes in Amsterdam, saw an article about the renouveau of ‘Snail Mail’ and discovered the wonderful that dedicated a full issue to the art of 'Correspondence' 🤎It became obvious that the next Creative Monday had to be about ‘Mail Art', so that's what i propose to you : let's meet on May 15th at , have fun, make art and reconnect with people near and far 🗺 [Eventbrite link in Bio 🎟]

I am very excited to finally annonce the new Creative Monday! The theme this time is ‘Mail Art’ ✉️📮🎨 : Also known as postal art and correspondence art, this artistic movement born in the 50’s centers on sending small-scale works through the postal service. We will use mixed media (including collage, paint or gel printing..) to create art pieces that we will send through the post at the end of the evening!
