Will whoever has hijacked my brother please return him to his normal self. Thursday we were playing happily, Friday he turned into a monster, trying to eat Doms, table legs, even me! Come back Boy. I’ll even go camping. Hell I’ll even give you a bite of my steak! - just the one mind. I’m the pioneer in joy and I’m rooting for you. 👊❤️
This picture was taken just before Boy braved the water and crossed the stream. Not with my style of course, and only up to his calves, but not bad for a mountain dog who they said wouldn’t ever get his feet wet!
Doms here. Boy has had the occasional epileptic fit in the last few months, but end of last week, after just a couple of days away, they suddenly became chronic. We avoided medication before, as the seizures weren’t that often and don’t want him zombified. Friday we began epilepsy meds, and by the afternoon he’d gone crazy. We left France Saturday and came home. It’s probably a brain tumour. 2 vets have basically said in so many words to put him down, but I’m not doing that when it could just be a reaction to the meds. He’s not in pain. Monday morning I got his meds changed. We’re now waiting to see how he is. He hasn’t had an attack since last Friday. He’s a fighter and we’re giving him every chance. He’s 11, has survived being a Greek street dog for 1.5 years (he’s smart, he lived outside the best taverna in the village), Leishmania, and a major attitude problem - likes to 💩stir dogs much larger and fiercer than he.
Thanks so much for all your love and support. It’s been a hell of a week and your sweet messages have given such a boost. I lap up every one, but prefer to put the little time I have into new posts and messages rather than replies. If I neglect someone too much do nudge. ###
