Cultural visit: on the 4th day of the Youth Exchange "Yes for Cyber, No for Bullying" the participants visited the Stair of the Turks and the Valley of the Temples. As a member of the Dutch team said: "In what was a pleasant break from serious discussions about cyberbullying, a guide explained to us the historical significance of the area and the stories of the temples and archeological finds. I felt infused with history and was ready to return to the daily activities and debates." .in.action

Between 15 and 20 april i participated in the training 'Young activists for democracy'.
When i was selected for this training at first i was very suprised. For me being an activist, always seemed something very big, and implied puting yourself in danger. Then how could i see myself as one?

Having arrived in Budapest at the we dove right into this topic of what 'being an activist' actually means. This helped me to realize being an activist is not something absolute, but rather means someone who is willing to defend human rights in whatever way suits them best.

From there we moved on to Human Rights, what are Human Rights, when should they be applied (always), through the means of presentations, discussions and to finish a simulation of a councilmeeting to decide if a mosque should be build in the town of Sleepyville.

This mix of theoretical learning and practical assignments was really prevalent thoughout the whole training course. So when it was time to learn about actvism we of course didnt just have to sit and listen, but where divided into groups and given a topic to plan an action arround. This lead to some really amazing ideas arround education on Human Rights topics and even to having A.I. create a video of the UN assembly doing the chicken dance.

On the final days of the training. Having finished all of the general topics it came time to design our own actions for the Action Month for Democracy (15 september to 15 octobre). For me this ment design a action to strengthen student participation within my university. The beginning is there, but i still have a lot to do before i am ready!

All with all this week has been an incredible opportunity to learn about Activism, Democracy, Human Rights and myself, what would not have been possible without the amazing trainers of and the other participants, who i explored budapest with in our time off.

If you feel inspired i urge you to join the Action Week for Democracy!

After the StartUp Spark Project, participants did a dissemination activity to share what they learned with others and make a wider public benefit from what they learned.

Habibe shares about the dissemination activity she did:

‘‘After my experience as a participant in the StartUp Spark Project, I was happy to pass on all that I have learned in the form a workshop for a dynamic group of young individuals, aged 16-18, drawing inspiration from my experiences with the StartUp Spark Project in Cuevas Bajas.

The workshop started off with an introduction to Erasmus+ projects. We’ve discussed application procedures and I’ve walked them through the essential parts of the journey before, during, and after the projects. Additionally, I’ve shared my experience of the StartUp Spark project, showing pictures and videos which captured the essence of our workshops, activities, games, and intercultural nights.

Inspired by one of the many educational and collaborative workshops from the StartUp Spark project, each student engaged in discussions revolving around essential societal issues: from gender equality and LGBT+ rights to economic inequality , refugee and immigrant rights, climate change, mental health awareness, and digital privacy.

Collectively, the students designed collages that represent their thoughts and ideas on these topics. As they rotated around each collage, every voice could be heard, and everyone had a chance to contribute. Not only was the workshop an educational exercise but it has also demonstrated the power of youth engagement and cross-cultural dialogue.’’
