For lovers of makam music,

I am starting a dedicated working group for instrumentalists and vocalists who wish to deepen their understanding and practice of makam music.

The focus will be on mastering makam intonation, exploring Eastern rhythmic cycles, strengthening sight-reading skills, practicing transposition, developing a rich repertoire of Turkish classical works, and refining ornamentation and musical dynamics.

We will meet every Saturday around noon in Amsterdam-West to share knowledge, exchange experience, and enjoy making music together in a focused yet inspiring environment.

I had a beautiful tour in Taiwan! Performed with my quartet with Philipp Rüttgers on piano, Martin Hafizi on drums and Daniel van Huffelen on bass. For the first concert we featured great Taiwanese harmonica player Jang Li. And the last concert was a showcase concert at World Music Festival Taiwan in Taipei Music Center.
I had a good flight back (via Hong Kong) which was 15 hours long on air, luckily could sleep for around 10 hours. Arrived in Amsterdam around 7am, now driving to Doorn for playing concert at Crossroads in Maartenskerk with great ney player Sukru Kirtis.

Dear Amsterdammer friends, my house search endeavors is going on. Meanwhile I have an option for a living space in Alsmeer but I really prefer to staying in Amsterdam for various reasons.
