Marcus Tayloe, an IBTS student, recommends Letters and Papers from Prison by Dietrich Bonhoeffer as one of his favourite books from the John Smyth Library.

He reflects on how the text holds together deep vulnerability with bold and challenging theological thought, offering fresh insight into faith lived under pressure and in confinement.

A powerful work that continues to raise important questions about discipleship, courage, and conviction.

Step into a conversation with Fedir Raichynets as he reflects on his past experience and current research in public theology - shaped by the recent realities in Ukraine and the evolving role of the church.

At the heart of his work is a challenging question: how do we understand and faithfully apply Romans 13 in times of crisis?

“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established…”

What does this mean in context? How should it be appropriated in situations of conflict, tension, and change?

Listen as Fedir shares insights from his research, offering thoughtful reflection on faith, authority, and responsibility in today’s world.

The IBTS supervisors and students are taking over the John Smyth Library. 📚
