‎Yesterday 7th May 2026, the Students’ Union Government (SUG) FUAZ Chapter received representatives of the TEACH Initiative during a meeting held at the Registrar’s Office. The delegation was led by the National Coordinator of the initiative, Prof Bello Umar Faruq, where important discussions concerning students and the academic community were held.
‎
‎The meeting focused on ways to support students in obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections, highlighting the importance of students’ participation in the democratic process and civic responsibility.
‎
‎During the meeting, the SUG also used the opportunity to forward requests to the Kebbi State Government for intervention in securing a befitting SUG Secretariat and hostel accommodation for students.

‎The TEACH Initiative, meaning Teachers, Educators and Academics for Continuity in Harmony, is an educator-led platform aimed at promoting continuity, stability, peace, and development within the education sector. The initiative seeks to unite academic staff, non-academic staff, and student leaders across higher institutions in Kebbi State towards educational advancement and responsible leadership.
