Meet your New Provost:
Dr. Sule Mundi was born to the humble family of Mall Mahmud Mundi Achinzhe and Hajiya Fatima Mundi of Abugi-Abete village, He attended Abugi Jankara Primary school from where he proceeded to complete his West African Examination Council (WAEC) at Government Science College Izom. Dr Mundi completed his first degree in 1994 and Masters Degree in 2005 in Applied and Analytical Chemistry from Usman Danfodio University Sokoto and University of Abuja respectively. Further, Dr Sule Mundi proceeded to acquire his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Analytical Chemistry from University of Manitoba Canada using his International Merit Scholar Award won from Islamic Development Bank (IDB) after contesting with over 600 candidates. Actually he was the only Nigerian winner in 2007. During his PhD Education in Canada, he won 11 awards, some of which he used as exchange student in University of Sidney Australia, National University of Singapore and University of Arizona USA. He was also the best food chemistry candidacy examination student in 2011.
To further add value to his profession, Dr Mundi attended some short courses including but not limited to ; The International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL), ICT -enhanced Teacher Development Certificate, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification program: HACCP certificate, good manufacturing practices certificate program, university of Manitoba leadership training Certificate program and Richardson Centre for Functional Food and Nutraceuticals Laboratory Safety Training Safety Certificate program. He also attended some workshops across the world including; Workshop on Computer literacy Programme, workshop on Academic research for Project Writing and Publishing, Workshop on Laboratory Safety and WHMIS, Workshop on Leadership Development Series,Workshop on “Support for the Implementation of Teacher, Professional Development for Secondary School Teachers in Nigeria, Sensitization Workshop on the 2012 Edition of NCE Minimum Standards and the use of quality assurance toolkit for institutional self-assessment ,Workshop on General Teaching Method using the school cluster model, and Workshop on Building Faculty Pedagogical Skills.
Dr Mundi is currently a chief lecturer with FCT College of Education Zuba. Prior to his Zuba appointment, he was a lecturer with Niger State College of Education Minna. Also, he was a visiting fellow in University Putra Malaysia, and was a teaching assistant in University of Manitoba and University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon Canada. He has also taught chemistry In National Open University of Nigeria in addition to being a moderator to several Colleges of Educations across Nigeria.
Prior to his recent appointment as the substantive provost, he was an Acting Provost, Deputy Provost, Acting Deputy Provost, Director Examination and Academic Planning, Chairman Academic Development Committee, Chairman Committee of Deans, Chairman Internal Assessment Committee, Chairman Academic Staff Training and Development, Chairman Excursion and Field Trip Committee, Chairman, Book Review Committee, Chairman Technical Committee on Edu -portal

Dr Mundi is a member of Chemical Society of Nigeria (SCN), Institute of Food Technologist (IFT) United States of America, Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology, Royal society of chemist UK and Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
Some of the awards to his credit includes; The Best Head of Department in Sciences-FCT College of Education Zuba, University of Manitoba: FGS Special Award, University of Manitoba: Financial aid and awards: general Award Fund, Islamic Development Bank Merit PhD Scholarship for High Technology, University of Manitoba International Graduate Student Bursary, Malaysian TWAS Fellowship for visiting Scholars University Putra Malaysia.
Dr Mundi is a Food analytical chemist with over 45 academic publications across the world and a Strong multidisciplinary background, especially in protein/ peptide chemistry, analytical chemistry, general food chemistry, instrumentation and nutritional sciences. He also has a good experience in protein chemistry, electrophoresis separation and FPLC/HPLC protein/peptides purification in addition to his expertise in structural analysis and functional characterization of proteins and peptides and extensive experience in analytical instruments operation and troubleshooting: GC, GC-MS, HPLC, Differential scanning calorimetry, gel electrophoresis, circular dichroism spectrophotometer, UV vis spectrophotometer, fluorescence spectroscopy.
