The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, received Mr. Shettima Inuwa from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), who was on an official visit to the University as internal Quality Assurance Assessor.

During the meeting, Prof. Bunkure pledged to sponsor the training of additional staff to obtain the Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) certification, thereby increasing the number of certified assessors within the University.

He stated that at least 20 staff members would be sponsored to undergo the QAA training.

Prof. Bunkure also directed the Director of the Directorate for Skills Development and Linkages, Dr. Amina Sani, to liaise with the NBTE to negotiate the cost and venue for the training.

In his remarks, Mr. Shettima Inuwa proposed practical strategies for increasing the number of certified Quality Assurance Assessors among the University’s staff.

According to him, expanding the pool of certified assessors would further strengthen compliance mechanisms and enhance quality service delivery across the institution.

Mr. Inuwa was led to the Vice-Chancellor’s office by Dr. Amina Sani. He also expressed satisfaction with the performance of the TVET participants and commended the University for providing adequate training materials to support the programme.

Earlier today, the Director, Directorate of Skills Development and Linkages, Federal University of Education, Zaria, Dr. Amina Sani, attended a Town Hall Meeting held at the Government House, Kaduna. The meeting brought together top stakeholders across relevant sectors and was convened to strengthen collaboration between the Kaduna State Government and the Directorate of Skills Development and Linkages of the Federal University of Education, Zaria.
In her remarks, Dr. Amina Sani emphasized the Directorate’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with Kaduna State, particularly in the area of vocational and skills-based training. She was also interviewed during the meeting, where she provided further insights into the university’s Skills Centre and its role in youth empowerment and workforce development. Additionally, the Directorate’s profile was formally presented to the Special Adviser on Skills Development, Kaduna State, who expressed strong interest and promised to reschedule a follow-up meeting with the Directorate for more in-depth discussions and possible collaboration.
