*Introduction*
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Islam is a religion of mercy and ease, designed to guide humanity in every circumstance of life. Its teachings are rooted in the Qur’an, the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) all of which emphasize simplicity, compassion, and the removal of hardship.
This book gathers the most relevant rulings and supplications that pertain to the seasons when water and cold weather test the devotion of believers - namely rain and winter. It begins by affirming Islam’s universal message and its inherent simplicity, then moves to practical matters: the purity of rain‑water, mud and clay; the performance of ablution in cold conditions; the permissibility of wiping over socks and boots; the use of dry ablution (Tayammum) when water is unavailable or harmful; adjustments to the call to prayer (Adhān) during stormy weather; the option to pray at home; the joining of two prayers; the use of space heaters in the mosque; fasting in winter or rain; and a collection of authentic supplications for wind, thunder, rain, and clearing skies.
The aim is to provide clear, concise answers that enable Muslims to worship with confidence, even when the elements are against them. By presenting the evidence from the Qur’an, authentic Hadith, and the insights of respected scholars, this work strives to show that the difficulty of weather is never a barrier to the mercy of Allah, but rather an opportunity to demonstrate patience, reliance on Him, and the beautiful flexibility of the Islamic law.
May the reader find both knowledge and spiritual comfort within these pages, and may Allah grant us the ability to apply His guidance in every season of life.
