The long-awaited D-Day for our Inter-House Sports Competition is finally here! The big event comes up tomorrow, and we can’t wait to celebrate this exciting occasion together.

Please ensure that all pupils, parents, and staff are present at the school no later than 9:30 a.m so we can start right on time.We’ll begin the day with a colourful procession featuring our drummers, trumpeters, students from our four houses, teachers, and parents all dressed in their bright and beautiful uniforms as we march from the school to the Old Assembly Quarters Field.

We are super honored to introduce Hon. Bonnie Kemebaradikummo Goodhope, the distinguished scholar, grassroots politician, and community leader in whose honor our *Blue House* is named. Hailing from Peremabiri Town in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Hon. Goodhope is a man whose life reflects a deep commitment to knowledge, service, and the empowerment of young people. He is the beloved junior brother to our very own Director, Madam Bonnie Nimiye Permanent.

Hon. Goodhope serves as a Principal Lecturer in the Department of General Studies at the Bayelsa State College of Health Technology, Otuogidi-Ogbia Town, where he has shaped the minds of countless students through his expertise in Chemistry. Currently, he is a postgraduate student of Peace and Conflict Studies (Human Security) at the Professor Okey Onochuku Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt. Beyond the classroom, he is an accomplished researcher who has contributed to scientific knowledge through published works in reputable international journals, focusing on critical areas such as environmental health, heavy metal contamination, and the nutritional properties of local foods. His research speaks of a man who is not only an academic but one who genuinely cares about the well-being of his people and the development of the Niger Delta region. As a grassroots politician, Hon. Goodhope has remained deeply rooted in his community, championing development and giving voice to the aspirations of his people. His love for education is unwavering, and it is evident in his generous and consistent support for Botimiebi Model Academy.

We are deeply honored to introduce Hon. Dr. Donny Sigah, the distinguished Development Economist and community leader in whose honor our *Red House* is named. Hailing from Ekowe community in Southern Ijaw, Bayelsa State, Dr. Sigah has dedicated his life to youth empowerment, education, and community service.

Dr. Sigah's service to His people began early when he served as Youth President of Ekowe community during the turbulent Niger Delta resource control agitation where he showed remarkable ability to unite his people. His outstanding leadership led to his election as Councilor in Southern Ijaw Local Government Council where he served as House Committee Chairman on Business and Communication. Recently he also served as the APC Deputy Youth leader (Bayelsa Central). As a Development Economist affiliated with the University of Africa, Toru-Orua, Dr. Sigah has contributed significantly to academic research on Nigeria's economic development. But beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Sigah has a profound love for education and is deeply passionate about seeing young people thrive academically and in every facet of life. This passion was beautifully demonstrated last year when he generously awarded scholarships to our two best graduating students at Botimiebi Model Academy, investing directly in their future and affirming his belief that education is the key to unlocking potential.

It is with great pride that our Red House bears his name, symbolizing leadership, generosity, and dedication to youth development. BOTIMIEBI MODEL ACADEMY GRAND AMBASSADOR GREEN HOUSE

We are thrilled to introduce Akudo Sabi, the legendary Nigerian football defender after whom our Green House is proudly named. Born on November 17, 1986, Akudo rose from humble beginnings to become one of Nigeria's most celebrated female footballers. Her journey from local pitches to the world stage is a testament to hard work, passion, and unwavering beliefs that inspire every young athlete who dreams of greatness.

Akudo's trophy cabinet tells the story of a true champion. She won three Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with the Super Falcons, represented Nigeria at the FIFA Women's World Cup, and shone brightly at the 2004 Summer Olympics. That same year, her exceptional performances earned her a spot on the FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship All-Star Team, placing her among the world's elite young talents. At club level, she was a defensive rock for Bayelsa Queens, and later returned to share her wealth of experience as their coach, giving back to the team that helped shape her career.

It is with immense pride and joy that we welcome Akudo Sabi to our Second Inter House Sports Competition. Her presence here today is a living reminder that greatness is within reach for every student here regardless of gender at Botimiebi Model Academy. May her story ignite the fire in our Green House and inspire all our students to play with heart, compete with honor, and chase their dreams with courage and determination.

BOTIMIEBI MODEL ACADEMY GRAND AMBASSADOR YELLOW HOUSE

We are deeply honored to introduce Champion Hon. Baraladei Daniel Igali, the legendary Nigerian athlete and public servant in whose honor our Yellow House is named. Born in Eniwari Kingdom, Bayelsa State, Champion Igali's remarkable journey began in traditional wrestling arenas, where his strength and discipline propelled him from local competitions to national championships and ultimately to the international stage.

Champion Igali's dedication reached its pinnacle at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where he won Olympic gold in Freestyle Wrestling representing Canada. This historic achievement cemented his place among the world's elite wrestlers and made him a symbol of what Nigerian talent can accomplish globally, inspiring aspiring athletes across Africa to dream boldly and pursue excellence.

Today, as Commissioner for Sports Development in Bayelsa State, Champion Hon. Daniel Igali continues to champion youth empowerment and the sports excellence values we strive to instill at Botimiebi Model Academy. It is with immense pride that we welcome him to our Second Inter House Sports Competition. May his presence inspire our Yellow House and all students to pursue excellence with honor and determination.

‎Earlier yesterday 29th November, 2025 Botimiebi Model Academy participated in a heated debate among several other institutions in Yenagoa on a very timely topic "CLIMATE CHANGE AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: A CALL TO ACTION, INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITIES".

‎Among the competing schools were Apex Academy, Government Technical School, Okaka, BYCAS Model School, Porters Touch etc, Botimiebi Model Academy cracked the hard nut by beating all other contestants as the overall Best.

With joy from my heart as Botimiebi Model Academy achieves another milestone permit me to bring to your notice that BOTIMIEBI MODEL ACADEMY is now an approved center for the NATIONAL EXAMINATION COUNCIL (NECO) beginning from this current examination year (2026).

Botimiebi Model Academy is now set to enroll her students for both WAEC and NECO examinations in this current examination year.

Parents are by this notice advised to come to Botimiebi Model Academy for the enrollment of their children and wards who are currently in the required classes for the above mentioned examinations.
