The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) commemorated every December 3rd is an event for recognizing the presence and needs of people with disabilities in our society.

For 2024, it is themed; Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future.
This theme is in recognition of the role that persons with disabilities can play where true inclusion and sustainability is to be entrenched for all.
Their involvement is very important being persons who can tell how it feels to be marginalized
These are persons who really know what it is to empathize as leaders.
The theme also reaffirms the key role that persons with disabilities can play in decision-making with respect to matters of concern to them.
