Is "schooling" the same thing as "learning" anymore? 🤔
We send our children to school with one primary expectation: that they gain the tools to navigate the world. At the very least, this means being able to read, speak, and write fluently.
Yet, we are seeing a heartbreaking trend across Nigeria where children spend years in classrooms but struggle to construct basic sentences or comprehend simple texts. If the foundation is shaky, what are we building on?
It’s time to stop paying for "attendance" and start demanding accountability. * Are we checking our children's books?
Are we questioning the quality of instruction?
Are we holding school administrators to a higher standard?
Education is an investment, not a donation. Our children deserve the literacy we were promised. 🇳🇬📚
