It’s quite alarming that many young people don’t want to learn vocational or technical skills anymore. Skilled labour is fading fast, and soon we might face a real shortage of plumbers, vulcanizers, carpenters, and other artisans who keep things running every day.

We had a deep discussion about this after one of our training sessions — and it was interesting to hear different views from our candidates on why this is happening.

The government and stakeholders really need to act now to prevent this from turning into a socio-economic crisis. Skill acquisition should be promoted, valued, and supported — because every nation needs its skilled workforce.
