QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN PURCHASING SOLAR PRODUCTS OR INSTALLATION (Page 3)
โ ๏ธWARRANTYโ ๏ธ
Listen!
you don't need warranty when you buy Bole by the roadside. If e nor sweet, you throway am.
Las las maybe you'd run at a loss of #400.
Oga ,Madam, when it comes to your investment in Solar systems, don't do Roadside o. E get why.
Its important that you're buying from a Dealer you trust or know and in addition gives you warranty on the product (not with Mouth alone o)
If you're not buying from a Dealer, let your Solar Installer tell you the warranty on the Installed System and then the warranty on individual products used.( Kindly have a formal agreement on this if possible).
You know why?
Because Solar Systems though worth it, are not exactly cheap.
Imagine spending 5M on a Solar System for your home and a unit is already failing in the first Month or even third Month?
I bet you, that joke won't be funny even if it's Basket mouth telling itโน๏ธ
What should Warranty cover?
-If there's unexpected System failure or Malfunction within the time frame of the warranty, the Company retracts the product, fixes it(even if it means totally replacing a part or board inside) without charge and sends it back to the Customer.
What Warranty does not Cover?
-Warranty does not cover for Carelessness from the Installer or Customer leading to damage of the device.
This is why you should get a professional to do your job Phos Solar โ
-Warranty does not cover for Natural disasters like Lightning or Earthquake or whatever.
(Na God you go complain give๐)
In such Scenarios, your Installer takes the product to fix for you but you're charged for Logistics and Repair costs.
If you're planning to go Solar, kindly reach out to us. Warranty dey!!๐

Solar Generator Vs Complete Solar System setup
SOLAR GENERATOR
PROS
-Easy to carry about from one place to another
-Cost effective (cheaper option)
-Easier to operate by Customer.(plug in and play)
CONS
-It's not expandable (It is what it is๐)
-It's can't be used to power some heavy loads.
-For Solar Generators that work with Modified Sine wave inverters, they can cause damage to some equipments like Refrigerators over time.
COMPLETE SOLAR SETUP
PROS
-It is designed to fit your exact need.
-It is expandable.
- It can carry very heavy loads.
There's no load that cannot be powered by the rated Solar system for it.
CONS
-It is more expensive.
-Installation to be done by professionals
- When installed, it's cumbersome to move to another place.
I know you've been saving to go Solar, which one would serve you better?๐ค

MIXING SOLAR PANELS
Good morning my People
So I hear say some People like to mix Egusi with Ogbono soup take chop Eba as e dey get one unique vibe๐.
Infact, in my University days, I saw somebody add beans to the mixture mentioned above to eat Eba.๐
Please, if the above resonates with your kind of Person, come close!
In Solar Installation, we not dey like that kind thing.
This is the challenge with that,
Solar Panels come in different sizes and ratings; Current, voltage and Power ratings.
When you mix them wrongly in one array, you'd never get the desired result.
As I type now, I perceive there's a brother reading this post now.
You have almost 40 panels on your roof but your House still dey dark for night.....
Your hour has come.
(Ushers stand behind him)....
Then the next person I want to address is Bro Gadus, you've been buying different "Belgium" panels of different sizes anywhere you see them planning to install them on your roof one day๐
Gadus why?
Pls sell them make you use am buy same brand to be used in an array.
Thanks in advance coz na me go run your Installation.
Have a great day.

QUESTIONS TO ASK BEFORE PURCHASING A SOLAR UNIT OR SYSTEM.(Page 2)
HOW FAST WOULD IT CHARGE?(Charge Speed)
So I noticed that many Customers already know to ask the first question.
"What can it power?"
Others would probe further and ask
"How long would it last?"
But most times, Customers forget this next question.
"How fast would it charge?"
This question might not make so much sense to you until the Rainy Season is fully come and then Nepa too enters avatar mode(Power supply once a week ๐)
See, from the design of your Solar System, your Engineer is meant to factor Rainy days and epileptic Power supply to determine the number of panels you'd need.
Let me quickly note here that the Solar Panels are majorly responsible for your charge speed.
Your charge controller is another factor but it all begins from the Panels used.
If your System is designed to charge completely full from Solar Panels in 3 hours, that's an amazing design especially knowing that the Sun hours in a day is approximately 5 hours.
But if your System takes like 5-10 hours to be charged fully from the Panels, wahala don dey be that.
This is because if the system is loaded with appliances while charging, the charge time would increase even more.
Lastly, also take into consideration how fast it will charge from the Grid.
This is very crucial for the night hours when there's no Sun.
If Nepa is benevolent enough to give you 3-4 hours of uninterrupted Supply, your Battery should be full.
Note: If you're using prepaid Meter, and have a big Solar System, charging from Grid daily won't be a smart idea o.
You go pay fire. Its better you're totally off-grid.
Have a nice Day.
See you in my next class.๐

QUESTIONS TO ASK BEFORE PURCHASING A SOLAR PRODUCT OR SYSTEM(Page 1)
WHAT CAN IT CARRY Vs HOW LONG WILL IT LAST CARRYING THE LOAD
You see, asking the wrong question, will always lead to the wrong conclusion in the end.
I'm sure you already know where this is headed from the topic ๐
The easiest way to get scammed by Solar system vendors is to have them test the unit you're about to buy on several loads or even send a video of the unit powering certain loads without telling you an estimate of how long it can power it.
Let me break it down further,
You buy a generator with an expectation that the amount you have paid also covers for a full tank of fuel and the seller states the same.
He tests it on several loads and it works...
Alas, you get home and turn it on and sure it carries the load but it goes off in 15mins as against maybe 10hours a full tank should have lasted.
At this point, you're furious and feel cheated(coz indeed you were) but guess what, all you need to do here is to go and buy fuel.
But for Solar Systems, if this happens to you, you don't "just buy" battery to add o.
-First of all, that one na another Money o.
-Secondly, you need to know the Battery compatible with the system before buying.
-You need to know whether the system supports Battery expansion.
-You need to know if the charge controller in the System can manage extra batter(ies)
-Extra battery means extra Panels....๐ฅฑ
Shebi you should have just gotten it right before buying in the first place?๐
That's why we're here to help.
Contact us at Phos Solar so that you don't enter Solar System "one chance".
Before you purchase a Solar product or have an installation done, ask them the Inverter capacity (what it can carry) and the Battery Capacity (How long it will last carrying that load).
In another post, I'd talk about the next question you should ask-"How fast the system would charge?"
