It is the Day of ‘Eid, just as the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said:

إِنَّ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ وَيَوْمَ النَّحْرِ وَأَيَّامَ التَّشْرِيقِ عِيدُنَا أَهْلَ الإِسْلاَمِ وَهِيَ أَيَّامُ أَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ

"The day of Arafat, the day of sacrifice and the days of Tashriq are our ‘Eid, O people of Islam, and they are days of eating and drinking and the remembrance (dhikr) of Allah.” (Muslim)

🌸 *From the last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ*

*What the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said in his last sermon on the day of ‘Arafah 10 years after the Hijrah to Madinah can be divided as so:*

* 𝐔𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in a hadith said, “A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him...Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfil his needs” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]

* 𝐁𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧
The Prophet said in the sermon: “Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.”

* 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬
In the last sermon, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ speaks about women’s rights. The Prophet ﷺ said, “I enjoin you to treat women well”, and “Fear Allah concerning women, for you have taken them on the security of Allah and have made their bodies lawful to you by the words of Allah. Your right over them is that they should not allow anyone whom you dislike to sit on your bed…”

* 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐫’𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡
He told us in this sermon that if we follow the Qur’an and his sunnah we will never go astray.

* 𝐀𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐈𝐧𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐲
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), while emphasising the significance of socio-economic justice, said, “And give your wealth in Zakat.” He also said “The riba (interest) of the jahiliyyah is abolished, and the first riba that I abolish is that of my Uncle ‘Abbas ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib. It is abolished completely. “

* 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 - 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲.
The Prophet ﷺ said , “An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have superiority over an Arab; also, a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has any superiority over a white – except by piety.”

TAQABALALLAAHU MINNA WA MINKUM

𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗙𝗔𝗛: Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah . He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.”
[Narrated by Muslim].

3 main things to do on the Day of Arafah.

1- Fasting (for the one who is capable and not at Hajj)- it will expiate 2 years worth of sins, approx 1min of fasting equal to one day of sins forgiven.

2- Saying "At-Tahleel" in abundance
لَا إِلهَ إِلاّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ المُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيءٍ قَدِيرٌ
"La ilaaha illa Allahu Wahdahu La Shareeka Lahu Lahul Mulku Walahul Hamdu Wahuwa Alaa Kulli Shayin Qadeer"

3- Making plenty of Dua, asking Allah for whatever ever you want, focusing on seeking Allah’s forgiveness and being freed from the Hell-Fire, as this is the most day of the year in which Allah SWT frees His slaves from the Fire.

✨ Juwairiyah bint Al-Harith (May Allah be pleased with her), the Mother of the Believers, reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) came out from my apartment in the morning as I was busy in performing the dawn prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found me sitting there. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Are you still in the same position as I left you." I replied in the affirmative. Thereupon the Prophet said, "I recited four words *three times* after I had left you. If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier.

These are: *Subhaanallaahi wa bihamdihi: 'Adada khalqihi, wa ridhaa nafsihi, wa zinata 'arshihi wa midaada kalimaatihi. (3 times)*

Glory is to Allah and praise is to Him, by the multitude of His creation, by His Pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the extent of His Words.

It was narrated that Aishah (ra) said :
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded me, or he commanded (the people) to use Ruqyah to deal with the evil eye.

🎯 Reciting the Last 3 Surahs of Quran (Nas Falaq Ikhlas)

Narrated 'Aisha: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times.

📚 Recitation of Baqarah

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Do not make your houses as graveyards. Satan runs away from the house in which Surah Baqarah is recited.

🎯 Last two verses of Baqarah

Narrated Abu Mas'ud: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If somebody recited the last two Verses of Surat Al-Baqara at night, that will be sufficient for him.”

🎯 Ayatal Kursi
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ordered me to guard the Zakat revenue of Ramadan. Then somebody came to me and started stealing from the foodstuff. I caught him and said, "I will take you to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" Then Abu Huraira described the whole narration and said: That person said (to me), "(Please don't take me to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and I will tell you a few words by which Allah will benefit you.) When you go to your bed, recite Ayat-al-Kursi, (2.255) for then there will be a guard from Allah who will protect you all night long, and Satan will not be able to come near you till dawn." (When the Prophet (ﷺ) heard the story) he said (to me), "He (who came to you at night) told you the truth although he is a liar; and it was Satan."

🎯 Reciting Surah Al-Fatiha📌
Some of the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by some people staying at a place where there was water, and one of those people had been stung by a scorpion. A man from those staying near the water, came and said to the companions of the Prophet, "Is there anyone among you who can do Ruqya as near the water there is a person who has been stung by a scorpion." So one of the Prophet's companions went to him and recited Surat-al-Fatiha for a sheep as his fees. The patient got cured and the man brought the sheep to his companions who disliked that and said, "You have taken wages for reciting Allah's Book." When they arrived at Medina, they said, ' O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! (This person) has taken wages for reciting Allah's Book" On that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "You are most entitled to take wages for doing a Ruqya with Allah's Book."

🎯 Dua against Evil Eye and Devil

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek Refuge with Allah for Al-Hasan and Al-Husain and say: "Your forefather (i.e. Abraham) used to seek Refuge with Allah for Ishmael and Isaac by reciting the following:

اعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَا مَةٍ

❝Auzuubika Limatil Lahil Tammati Min Kulli Shaitanin Wa Hammah Wa Min Kulli Aynin Lammah❞

'O Allah! I seek Refuge with Your Perfect Words from every devil and from poisonous pests and from every evil, harmful, envious eye.' "

🎯 Dua for removal of harm and healing of disease

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud: Zaynab, the wife of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, told that Abdullah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: spells, charms and love-potions are polytheism.
I asked: Why do you say this? I swear by Allah, when my eye was discharging I used to go to so-and-so, the Jew, who applied a spell to me. When he applied the spell to me, it calmed down. Abdullah said:
That was just the work of the Devil who was picking it with his hand, and when he uttered the spell on it, he desisted. All you need to do is to say as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say:

اللَّهُمَّ ربَّ النَّاسِ ، أَذْهِب الْبَأسَ ، واشْفِ ، أَنْتَ الشَّافي لا شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ ، شِفاءً لا يُغَادِرُ سقَماً

‘❝Allaahumma Rabban-naas, adhhibil-ba’s, washfi antash-Shaafi laa shifaa’a illaa shifaa’uka shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqaman”

“O Allaah, Lord of mankind, do away with my suffering. Heal (me) as You are the only Healer and there is no cure except that of Yours, it is that which leaves no ailment behind”

🎯 Dua recited by Jibrael (AS) when the Prophet fell ill

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed that Jibra’il came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: “O Muhammad, you are ill. He said: ‘Yes.’ He said:

بسم الله أرقيك ,من كلّ شيء يؤذيك ,من شر كلّ نفس أو عين حاسد ,الله يشفيك, بسم الله أرقيك

❝Bismillahi arqeek, min kulli shay’in yu’dheek, min sharri kulli nafsin aw ‘aynin haasid, Allaahu yashfeek, Bismillaahi arqeek.❞

(In the Name of Allah I perform Ruqyah for you, from everything that is harming you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye, may Allah heal you. In the Name of Allah I perform Ruqyah for you).

🎯 Protection from Devil from All sides

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never abandoned these supplications, every morning and evening:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَاىَ وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي اللَّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي وَاحْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَىَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي

❝Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyah fid-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyah fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahum-mastur 'awrati, wa amin raw'ati wahfazni min bayni yadayya, wa min khalfi, wa 'an yamini wa 'an shimali, wa min fawqi, wa 'audhu bika an ughtala min tahti❞

(O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and in the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religious and my worldly affairs. O Allah, conceal my faults, calm my fears, and protect me from before me and behind me, from my right and my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in You from being taken unaware from beneath me)."

📍 REMINDER OF THE DAY

Trust Allah, the ultimate saviour. Whenever we are in need of something, feeling restless or anxious speak to Allah. Whenever we are stuck in any difficulty or someone hurts us just converse with Allah.

The last day for cutting of hair and nails for those who intend to Uduhiya/Sacrifice 🐐🐏🐪 is on the 29th of Dhul-Qa'dah corresponding to Sunday, 18th of June 2023 in Nigeria...

Kindly remind others too.

May Almighty Allah provide for us to enable us to partake in this act of worship, and protect us against show off when partaking in the act.

Final don't forget to give part of the animal to those who are unable to buy ram...

May Allāh accept our Ibadaat and sacrifices!!!

SOME TIPS TO MAKE THE MOST OF THESE BLESSED DAYS:

📌READ THE QUR'AN:
Reading the Qur’an is a good deed and Allah (Subhaanahu WaTa'ala) especially loves the good deeds done in these days. Read as much as you can, even if it is a few verses each day.

📌 INCREASE IN NAWAAFIL PRAYERS:
There are a number of extra prayers you can observe during the day to increase your worship and good deeds.

📌 REPENT TO ALLAH Ta'ala:
Make a sincere repentance to Allah Ta’ala and promise Him that you will not do bad deeds again. This may be your last chance. You are not sure if you will live till next year.

📌 GIVE IN CHARITY:
Give in charity in these blessed days, as much as you can.

📌 PRESERVE TIES OF KINSHIP:
Maintaining the ties of kinship is from the best of deeds due to the saying The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “Whoever would like his provision to be increased and his lifespan to be extended, let him maintain the ties of kinship.” [Bukhari]

"And keep reminding, because reminding benefits the believers." (Q51:55)

💬 Takbeer

Rasoolullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam said, “No days are as weighty with Allah and so liked by Him for good deeds than the first ten days of Zul Hijjah. So on these days, increasingly read Subhãnallah, Lã ilãha illallãh, Alhamdulillah and Allahu Akbar.” (Musnad Ahmad)

It is Sunnah to say Takbeer (Allaahu akbar), Tahmeed (Al-hamdu Lillaah), Tahleel (La ilaha ill-Allaah) and Tasbeeh (Subhaan Allaah) during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and to say it loudly in the mosque, the home, the street and every place where it is permitted to remember Allaah and mention His name out loud, as an act of worship and as a proclamation of the greatness of Allaah, may He be exalted. Men should recite these phrases out loud, and women should recite them quietly.

The Prophet said: “The best supplication is that of the Day of `Arafah, and the best thing that I and other Prophets before me said, is: La ilaha illa allahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahu al-mulku wa lahu al-hamdu wa huwa `ala kulli shai’in qadeer (There is no Allah Ta’ala but Allah alone. He has no partners. To Him belong the sovereignty and all praise. He has power over all things). (Al-Tirmidhi)

FASTING ON THE DAY OF AFARAT...

Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Was-sallam was asked about the fast on the day of Arafat. He said, “It compensates for the (minor) sins of the past and the coming year.” (Muslim, Tirmizi, Ibn Mãjah)

Abu Hurairah stated, "The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu'alaihi wa sallam) forbade fasting on the day of Arafah for one who is actually at 'Arafah." [This is related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, an-Nasa'i, and Ibn Majah]

At-Tirmidhi comments: "The scholars prefer that the day of 'Arafah be fasted unless one is actually at 'Arafah."

FASTING THE FIRST 9 DAYS...

The mother of the believers, Hafsah Radiyallaahu anhaa reports that Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alayhi was-sallam used to fast the (first) nine days of Zul Hijjah. (Nasã’ee, Ahmad, Aboo Dãwood)

The Messenger of Allah, Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, has said, "One fast during these days is equal to the fasting of one complete year, and the worship of one night during this period is equal to the worship of "Lailatul-Qadr". (Tirmizi)
