It has been confirmed that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has opened the CAPS portal for the uploading of O’Level results for the 2026 admission exercise.

This applies to candidates who registered with “Awaiting Result (AR)” during their UTME registration.

All affected candidates are strongly advised to proceed immediately to any accredited JAMB CBT centre or JAMB office to upload their WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent results.

IMPORTANT DETAILS

• Uploading of O’Level results is compulsory for admission consideration.
• Candidates without uploaded results on CAPS will not be considered by institutions, regardless of UTME score or Post-UTME performance.
• Candidates combining results (two sittings) must ensure all results are properly uploaded.
• Uploads can only be done at accredited CBT centres or official JAMB offices.

NOTE

Candidates are advised to act quickly and ensure their details are correctly updated on the JAMB CAPS portal, as admission processing is already ongoing.

Failure to upload your O’Level result on time may affect your chances of admission.

The portal for Change of Course and Change of Institution is now active, but candidates are advised to avoid rushing into the process without proper research.

Before making any change, ensure that:

• Your UTME score meets the likely admission requirements of the new course or institution.
• Your UTME subject combination matches the requirements for the course you intend to switch to.
• Your O’Level results satisfy the admission conditions of the institution.
• The institution you want to choose is already accepting changes on the JAMB portal.
• You confirm the correct course and institution codes before submission.

Candidates should also note that the process requires:

✓ JAMB registration number
✓ Access to the phone number and email used during registration
✓ Biometric verification at an accredited CBT centre
✓ Payment of the approved processing fee and service charges

It is important to understand that changing to a less competitive course does not automatically guarantee admission. Proper research and informed decisions remain the key factors.

𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐅 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐔𝐓𝐌𝐄 𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓 𝐒𝐋𝐈𝐏

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates will be able to begin printing their 2026 UTME Original Result Slip from Monday, May 18, 2026.

Candidates who have been unable to access their results through the SMS method are advised to check the portal once it becomes active.

The Original Result Slip will contain important details such as:
• Candidate’s passport photograph
• UTME subject scores
• Aggregate score
• Registration and examination details

Meanwhile, the Change of Course and Change of Institution portal is currently active for candidates who wish to modify their admission choices.

Candidates are advised to stay updated through JAMB’s official platforms and accredited CBT centres for further admission-related processes.
