📚 HOLIDAY LESSON FOR CHILDREN: WHAT'S YOUR TAKE?
A child should look forward to learning — not fear it. But what happens when holidays, meant for rest and laughter, become another season of pressure?
Holidays are supposed to refresh young minds. Yet when lessons are too rigid, compulsory, or exam-driven, children slowly lose the joy of learning.
😔 Some children return to school tired, discouraged, and uninterested — not because they hate learning, but because they were never allowed to rest.
Children learn best when learning feels safe, joyful, and inspiring.
Holiday lessons should ignite curiosity, not extinguish it.
A balanced holiday — one with play, love, rest, and gentle learning — raises children who:
Love school
Learn with confidence
Grow emotionally strong
❤️ Let’s protect our children’s love for learning.
Education should build hearts, not break spirits.
💬 Parents, teachers — what do you think?
How do we keep learning joyful even during the holidays?

📚 A TEACHER'S GREATEST MISTAKES: Teacher Shapes Futures—Don’t Let These Mistakes Break Them
The greatest harm a teacher can do is not in what they teach, but how they treat learners.
Avoid favoritism, harsh words, poor preparation, and ignoring individual differences—because one careless moment can damage a child’s confidence for life.
Teach with fairness, patience, passion, and purpose… the classroom is a place of hope, not fear.

🇳🇬 ESTIMATED VALUES OF THE NEW TAX LAW FOR TEACHERS (From 2026): WHAT IT REALLY MEANS FOR YOU
From January 2026, the new Nigerian tax law brings real financial relief for teachers and other salary earners.
✅ ₦800,000 Tax-Free Income:
If your taxable income (after pension, NHIS, NHF, rent relief, etc.) is ₦800,000 or less per year, you pay ZERO personal income tax.
Lower & Fairer Tax Rates:
Any income above ₦800,000 is taxed progressively, meaning you pay less tax at lower levels and more only as income increases — a fairer system for hardworking teachers.
More Allowable Deductions:
Pension contributions, health insurance, housing fund, rent relief, and life insurance all help reduce what you’re taxed on.
No Special “Teacher-Only” Allowance, but…
The higher tax-free threshold and deductions mean many teachers will pay far less tax — or none at all.
Bottom Line:
The 2026 tax law may not raise salaries, but it protects teachers’ earnings and puts more money back in their pockets.
Teach with passion — and enjoy the relief you deserve.

TAX PENALTIES FOR TEACHERS IN NIGERIA (NEW TAX LAW EXPLAINED SIMPLY)
From 1st January, 2026, whether you teach in a public or private school, the new Nigerian tax law applies to you as an individual taxpayer.
If a teacher defaults in tax obligations, here’s what happens:
🔹 Failure to file annual tax returns
▪ ₦100,000 for the first month
▪ ₦50,000 for every additional month of default
🔹 Late payment of personal income tax
▪ Penalty of up to 10% of the tax due
▪ Plus interest at the CBN lending rate until fully paid
🔹 Failure to register for tax / no TIN
▪ ₦50,000 for the first month
▪ ₦25,000 for every extra month
🔹 Failure to remit deducted tax (only if you employ someone)
▪ Full tax due
▪ 10% penalty per year
▪ Interest at CBN rate
🔹 Serious or deliberate tax evasion
▪ Heavy fines
▪ Possible jail term (up to 3 years)
✅ IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TEACHERS
✔ Most salaried teachers are under PAYE (employers deduct and remit tax).
✔ Still, ensure your tax records and TIN are up to date.
✔ Ignorance is not an excuse under the law.
📣 Pay your tax early. Avoid penalties. Stay compliant.
A responsible teacher is a compliant citizen 🇳🇬

📢 NEW TAX LAW IN NIGERIA: WHAT IT MEANS FOR TEACHERS 🧑🏫🇳🇬
(Simple, Clear & Teacher-Friendly Summary)
The new tax law taking effect in the year 2026 in Nigeria has raised many questions — especially among teachers. Here’s a clear breakdown of how it affects YOU:
✅ 1. Most Teachers Will Pay Little or NO Tax
If your annual salary is ₦800,000 or below, you are completely exempt from PAYE tax.
This means more money in your hand every month.
✅ 2. Mid-Income Teachers May Pay Less Than Before
Teachers earning slightly above ₦800,000 will fall under a new progressive tax system that may reduce their tax burden.
More take-home pay. Less pressure.
⚠️ 3. Senior Teachers & Teachers With Side Hustles Must Take Note
If you run:
✔️ Home lessons
✔️ Weekend tutoring
✔️ Part-time marking
✔️ Any side business
All income must now be declared to avoid penalties.
Higher earners may pay slightly more tax.
📌 4. School Fees & Learning Materials Will Not Be Affected by VAT
Education remains VAT-free, so school fees and learning materials should not increase because of VAT.
🏠 5. Some Old Allowances Are Gone – New Ones Will Replace Them
The former Consolidated Relief Allowance (CRA) has been removed, but new rent-related reliefs may apply.
Keep your rent receipts and payslips safe.
🧑🏫 BOTTOM LINE FOR TEACHERS
Most teachers — especially in public schools — will enjoy reduced tax and higher take-home pay under the new law.
Only teachers with higher income or multiple income sources may feel an increase.
