No matter how fluently I speak English, it can never impress me 😄
And for me, I grew up in a village – I'm a village boy😂– where speaking English was the only measure for intelligence and perhaps success
I saw people at kaikai joint speaking very polished English, with very nice accents
But I was always wondering how people could be that fluent in speaking English and their life would still have an error
Fast-forward to now that when narrating the past, you just have to make use of nice dictions.
It was understood that speaking English is only a means, not an end.
If at the end of my speaking, I can convince someone to purchase my product, subscribe to my services or even just to pass an information, I'm fine 😄
I like speaking my language tho. I'm also a multilinguist 😊
Amesiere! – Annang/Ibibio
Good morning! – English
Bonjour! – French
According to the treaty of Westphalia of 1648 and subsequent resolutions at the Congress of Vienna of 1815 which culminates to the new international law.
All countries are equal. They have the absolute power to choose it's leaders, to make it's laws and to protect it's territory based on its capacity. States also have rights to non interference from external powers be it the most capable country in the world.
Even if they are the smallest countries in the world like the Vertican City, Equatorial Guinea, Burundi or even Rwanda. These countries are all equal in the comity of nations, not even to talk about a country as large as Nigeria.
Still, under the international law, it encourages cooperation not threat. There's no superiority whatsoever.
I don't think Mr Trump remembered this when he made his post, perhaps he forgot. Because posts such as this threatens international peace and stability.
I know some people will pour out their ignorance and emotions under the comment section.
Back to Nigeria. Dear Nigerians, this is how they – Trevor Roper, George Hegel, David Hume and others from the West declared that Africa had nothing before their coming and many Africans believed, automatically forgetting their cultures, arts, ingenuities, norms, wealth, and brotherhood.
It happened with the North African Berbers, the Southern African San and Bantus. And many other groups including Nigeria
Modern wars or conquest don't just start by launching a mîssile.
It starts from ideological warfàre such as this. They try to make you hate your home before they come take it.
Read about what happened to Ghaddaffi, Kwame Nkrumah, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Julius Nyerere, Mobutu, Nelson Mandela and the roles American CIA played and you will know what this is.
If Trump meant well for Nigerians, he would have rather sought intervention by collaborative efforts through the United Nations to conquer insecurities in Nigeria.
He didn't, because that's not his real pain. His pain is that the only neocolonialistic relationship America has with Nigeria is about to go down by Aliko Dangote announcing an expansion fuel production in his refinery.
Because Nigeria will no longer import fuel from them. And that explains why they keep inciting our brothers in the name of marketers to make sure Nigeria still imports fuel even when there's no advantage whatsoever.
He forgot that another big problem causing insecurity is the presence of multinational corporations in Nigeria, owned by America.
You have a phone in your hand, fact check all these things I am saying.
Nigeria is not the best country in the world. Nigeria is a struggling country with ethnic, religious and political reasons as our issues, so as every other country is struggling. But we are trying. Just few days age, the security architecture was overhauled, just to enhance national security. Nigeria is also trying to fix the economy too.
Please checkout the latest Barrack Obama's post and you will find out that even America is still battling will food insecurity, inequality and unemployment. No country has eradicated insecurity or reached the peak of civilization. All countries are evolving.
Nigerians, don't allow your ignorance to make you appear little and inferior by reposting Trump's post and saying some unconstructive critiques about your country. You owe Nigeria that patriotic behaviour, action and inactions.
My name is Otuekong Udom. A student of History and International Studies, University of Uyo, Nigeria.
Anything that gives you happiness go ahead and do it. On Sunday 26/10/2025, I had the best fun recently. I am exceedingly grateful to Davido and Akwa Ibom State Government for putting this amazing cultural event up in Akwabasi Ibom State. The performance was electrifying throughout.🔥
This emphasizes that Nigeria, not just Akwa Ibom will someday be a destination to major global events. And because of my patriotic life, I was there from start to finish.
Hard times aren’t tests sent by some higher power to measure our strength. They’re opportunities to give meaning to pain, mistakes, or misfortune.
Sometimes we reap the consequences of our own choices; other times, we simply face the whims of fate. But in both cases, the choice remains ours: to resist with bitterness or to transform with purpose.
The Stoic doesn’t ask, “Why me?” but rather, “What for?” Because they understand that even in adversity there’s room to grow, to correct our course, to become wiser and more human.
Nothing that happens is beyond the possibility of teaching us something.
And when we learn to see our wounds as teachers, we stop being victims of life and become its most conscious students. By then we'd stop giving excuses.
So if today you’re walking through a storm and feel guilty, punished, or abandoned—breathe. You are not the result of your pain, but of what you choose to do with it counts.
The universe isn’t testing you; it’s offering you a chance to be reborn and recalibrate—stronger, clearer, and freer.
