CHAPTER 22

The Memory Mia Chose

Sarah was sorting old photographs.
"Mia, which one is your favourite?"
She expected a birthday picture.
Or Christmas.

Instead, Mia pointed to one where she was planting flowers with her classmates.
"I liked this day."
"Why?"
"Because everybody helped."

Sarah smiled.
Children don't always remember the biggest events.
They remember how people made them feel.

CHAPTER 21

The Photo on David's Desk

One Monday morning, a colleague stopped by David's office.
He noticed a small photo sitting beside the computer.

It was Ethan.
Covered in paint.
Holding a paper crown.
Smiling from ear to ear.

"You must really miss him during the day," the colleague said.
David smiled.
"I don't worry about him anymore."
"I just miss him."

There was a time when every hour apart felt heavy.
Now he knew Ethan wasn't just being looked after.
He was growing.
Learning.
Laughing.
Becoming.

Some pictures don't simply decorate our desks.
They remind us why we work so hard.

Theme III: Little Moments, Big Miracles

CHAPTER 20

The Miracle Wasn't Big at All

Saturday afternoon.
Laundry waited.
The dishes waited.
The phone kept ringing.
Sarah almost missed it.

Mia and Ethan were sitting on the floor together.
One was reading a picture book.
The other was pretending to teach.
Every few minutes they burst into laughter.

No screens.
No expensive toys.
Just imagination.

Sarah leaned against the doorway and smiled.
Perhaps miracles don't always arrive with noise.
Perhaps they look like ordinary moments that become unforgettable memories.
She quietly reached for her phone, not to answer another message, but to take a picture she knew she would treasure forever.

At ROCA, we believe the greatest gifts of childhood are often the simplest ones: confidence, kindness, curiosity, friendship and the freedom to grow.
