EDUCATION ENLIGHTENMENT CAMPAIGN – ORON, UDUNG UKO, URUEOFONG ORUKO AND MBO LGAs
Governor’s Aide calls on Head Teachers to establish structured mentorship systems for junior colleagues in the education sector.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring, Pastor Ekponobong Moswill, hosted a comprehensive Education Summit for Oron, Udung Uko, Mbo, and Urueofong Oruko Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State.
The summit, aimed at strengthening and aligning school activities with the education policies of the State Government, addressed:
(1) The correlation between the teaching profession and teachers’ personality.
(2) Models for effective school administration and classroom management.
In his address, the Special Assistant appreciated His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, for the privilege and trust reposed in him to serve in the education sector, a field he is deeply passionate about.
He charged teachers to remain committed and dedicated in order to reciprocate the Governor’s continuous support for the sector.
He further called on Head Teachers to develop well-structured mentorship systems for their junior colleagues through regular internal educational seminars and practical, hands-on approaches.
Furthermore, free resource materials were distributed to all Head Teachers across the four LGAs for onward dissemination to classroom teachers, to support and enhance internal training processes.
In her remarks, the AOSHPON Chairman, Oron LGA, Mrs. Regina Etim Okpo, speaking on behalf of teachers across the four LGAs, commended His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, for his unprecedented support to the Basic Education System, including the introduction of wardrobe allowance, and payment of subventions and other provisions for the smooth running of schools.
She also appreciated the Governor’s Aide for introducing impactful initiatives that have left a lasting mark on the system.
Also speaking, the Education Secretary, Oron LGA, Mrs. Nse Joseph Ebo, applauded the Special Assistant for the impactful initiative and encouraged him to sustain the momentum. She further conveyed the collective resolve of Oro teachers to support the Governor in the 2027 election, in recognition of his people-centered service.
As part of efforts to motivate professionalism, Pastor Moswill rewarded a male teacher who demonstrated exemplary corporate dressing with a cash award. The teacher appeared in an ash-coloured suit, white long-sleeve shirt, black tie, and well-polished black shoes, symbolizing the dignity of the teaching profession.

IKONO EDUCATION DRIVE: COMMISSIONER COMMENDS COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, CALLS FOR COLLECTIVE EFFORT BY ALL STAKEHOLDERS.
The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Professor Ubong Umoh Essien, has reiterated the State Government’s commitment to strengthening basic education across Akwa Ibom State. He made this known through his representative, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring, Pastor Ekponobong Moswill, during the Ikono Education Drive Programme organized by the Executive Chairman of Ikono Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Engr. Oto-Obong Essien.
The programme focused on enhancing coordination and collaboration between the Local Government Council and school administrators, with the aim of advancing educational development within the locality.
In his address, the Commissioner commended the Council Chairman for aligning with and complementing the education advancement drive of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, under the ARISE Agenda.
He noted that the present administration has made significant investments in the education sector, including the construction of model schools, prompt payment of salaries, and the provision of subventions to facilitate the smooth running of schools.
He further charged Head Teachers and other stakeholders to play their respective roles effectively, emphasizing that the desired improvement in educational outcomes can only be achieved through collective effort.
During the interactive session, Head Teachers highlighted their needs within the school system. In response, the Council Chairman reaffirmed her commitment to enhancing basic education in Ikono and announced the provision of a mini-bus to the Education Secretary to support effective monitoring of academic activities across the 60 public primary schools in the area, as well as free medical check-ups for all teachers. She also pledged to provide regular in-service training for teachers and other support services to ensure improved teaching and learning outcomes.

Education Enlightenment Campaign Holds in Nsit Atai and Okobo LGAs.
"The Special Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring, Pastor Ekponobong Moswill, has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the educational vision of the administration of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, in line with the ARISE Agenda".
Within the week, Pastor Moswill hosted an Education Enlightenment Campaign in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State. The campaign was designed to strengthen the basic education system and inspire teachers toward improved quality of education delivery in public primary schools.
The programme featured educational seminars focused on key professional topics addressing both the teaching profession and the personal development of teachers, which are critical to the effective functioning of the school system.
In his address, Pastor Moswill expressed satisfaction with the dedication of teachers, noting that their commitment has contributed significantly to the progress currently witnessed in the primary education sector under the administration of Pastor Umo Eno.
He encouraged teachers to intensify their efforts and emphasized the importance of establishing a strong mentorship system, where Head Teachers guide and support younger colleagues to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and experience.
He also called for regular internal training within schools and distributed free educational resource materials to Head Teachers.

She further appreciated the distribution of free resource materials and pledged that teachers would make maximum use of them.
In his response, Pastor Moswill reiterated his dedication to supporting the Governor’s vision for educational advancement under the ARISE Agenda, assuring stakeholders of his continued commitment and sacrifices toward strengthening the basic education system.

GOVERNOR UMO ENO'S AIDE VISITS HOME-TOWN PRIMARY SCHOOL, DONATES UNIFORMS AND EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO PUPILS.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring, Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Ekponobong Moswill, paid an official visit to his village Primary School, Ikot Obiokpoho in Ukanafun Local Government Area, where he donated new school uniforms and educational materials to pupils.
The items distributed included exercise books, pencils, biros, and complete school uniforms for all pupils, aimed at encouraging academic excellence and supporting the education advancement drive of His Excellency under the ARISE Agenda.
In his address, Pastor Moswill expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Umo Eno, for the opportunity to serve in his administration. He pledged his unwavering commitment to reciprocate the Governor’s confidence through dedicated service.
Reflecting emotionally, he noted that it was on the school field during his father’s funeral that the Governor publicly announced his appointment. He described the gesture as a demonstration of love and goodwill, stating that the presentation of uniforms and learning materials to the pupils was an extension of Governor Umo Eno's love. He encouraged the pupils to make good use of the items and remain focused on building a bright future through education.
The official presentation of the materials was made to the school management and received by the Deputy Head Teacher on behalf of the pupils.
In attendance were members of the village council. Speaking on their behalf, the Village Council Secretary, Deacon Ime Wilson, commended Governor Umo Eno for his developmental strides across the state and appreciated him for appointing Pastor Moswill, describing the appointment as a source of pride and celebration for the community. He noted that the donation of free uniforms further complements the free education policy enjoyed by children across the state and provides relief to parents and guardians.
Elder Effiong Ekpo,a native of Ikot Obiokpoho and a retired Director of education in the state Civil service also lauded the Governor for sustaining free education in the state and commended the Special Assistant for the generous gesture.
Mrs. Nse Ekpo, Director of Education Development Services, who represented the Ministry of Education, appreciated the village council for ensuring adequate security and proper maintenance of school facilities. She commended the teachers for their dedication and encouraged the pupils to be inspired by the gesture to take their studies more seriously. She further applauded the Special Assistant and urged him to continue in his sacrificial service to humanity.
Also present to witness the gesture were executives of the Association of Ukanafun Students World Wide, the Women Leader of Ikot Obiokpoho Village, and other community stakeholders.
