Dear Naphss Students,

I want to believe you all had a smooth and fun filled holiday in your different homes.

This day dated 1st September 2023, I write to officially welcome back to school every Student of the National Association of Physical Science Students (NAPHSS), Aksu Chapter.

As you all resume, I ask you keep focus and be proactive at every given task. I wish you all success and grace to finish with flying colours this semester.

As the President Naphss, I promise to make this government a beautiful and nice one where all (Naphss) students wishes would be put to consideration and looked into.

I have planned to do so many things through out my tenure but I can't do that until I hear from Students across the six Department in Naphss. Your opinions are paramount.

I want each and every student in NAPHSS to please voice out their minds on what they want done in school that will improve the school and also be of benefit to all.

I call on every student of the National Association of Physical Science Student (NAPHSS) to please take this as a very serious call and matter that needs urgent attention.

The resignation is rooted on hills of higher calling as I move to glamour for the best and welfare of the entire student.

With deep sense of appreciation, I wish to thank my constituency Chemistry , distinguished colleagues, faculty executive council and the entire Students community for unanimous and unwavering support, co-operation and selfless service in shifting grounds to make the organized body great.

We would have done more if we have the resources needed to facilitate this projects.

In few weeks we shall take a bow, the dream, Vision and the mission is intact, we will keep doing more for our dear faculty and the students community at large....

PRESS RELEASE

APPLICATION FORM FOR THE AWARD OF UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS


His Excellency, the Education friendly Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has approved the Award of Scholarships to 500 (Five Hundred) indigent (very poor) but intelligent students of Akwa Ibom State origin, studying in Federal or State Universities in Nigeria with effect from the 2021/2022 academic session valued at N200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) only for each student, per session.

2. The Scholarships shall be 70% (Seventy percent) for undergraduates studying Science and Technology and Thirty percent (30%) for other courses as follows:

a. Science and Technology courses include:
 Aviation Studies
 Marine Studies
 Medicine and Surgery
 Pharmacy
 Engineering Studies
 Agricultural Sciences
 Physical Sciences
 Biological Sciences
 Mathematics
 Geophysics
 Artificial Intelligence
 Geology
 Oil and Gas related courses
 Robotic Science, etc.

b. Other Fields of Studies:
 Law
 Arts / Humanities / Management Sciences
 Education, etc.

3. ELIGIBILITY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIPS AWARD
i. All applicants (Physically Challenged inclusive) must be registered, full-time indigent (very poor) but intelligent students in Federal or State Universities;
ii. Applicants must be at least in their 2nd year of study;
iii. All applicants must have a minimum of 3.50 Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) on a 5.00 scale;
iv. All applicants must produce testimonials from their institutions;
v. All applicants must present certificate of origin from their respective Local Government Council in Akwa Ibom State;
vi. All applicants must NOT be more than Twenty-five (25) years of age at the time of application;
vii. All applicants will be expected to state the financial status / occupation / means of livelihood of their Parents, after fulfilling the academic requirement;
viii. All beneficiaries will be expected to submit academic results at the end of every session to determine their continued eligibility for the scholarship based on their CGPA, which will be verified by the Ministry of Education / State Scholarships Board;
ix. Any beneficiary who falls below the required CGPA of 3.50 will be withdrawn from the Scholarships Scheme;
x. Change of course or institution will NOT be allowed while enjoying the scholarships.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

4. Suitably qualified undergraduates are invited to log on to www.moe.akwaibomstate.gov.ng and fill the application form.

All shortlisted students will be required to come to the interview with the following documents:

 Admission Letter
 Testimonial from the applicant’s Head of Department
 Current Semester’s Result / Statement of Result stating the CGPA
 Birth Certificate / Age Declaration
 Certificate of Origin from applicant’s Local Government Council
 Letter stating the financial status / occupation / means of livelihood of Parents of the applicant
 Student’s Identity Card

5. Entry closes one month after the date of this publication
