March 14 marks Pi Day, a celebration of one of the most fascinating numbers in mathematics — π (pi). This infinite number represents the relationship between a circle’s circumference and its diameter, and it appears everywhere in science, physics, engineering, and even astronomy.
From calculating the orbits of planets to understanding the structure of the universe, π plays a role in many of the equations that help us explore the cosmos.
Today is a reminder that even a simple number can unlock some of the biggest mysteries of our universe.
Happy Pi Day — March 14! 📐✨

Verify Your NIN Details Before Registration-
Jamb Urges Utme Candidates
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has advised candidates planning to sit for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) to confirm the accuracy of their National Identification Number (NIN) details before beginning the registration process.
In a notice published in its weekly bulletin on Monday, JAMB warned that errors in NIN information could lead to unnecessary challenges during registration and even affect candidates’ participation in the examination.
According to the board, candidates should ensure that all NIN records are correctly captured and consistent across official databases before creating their JAMB profiles.
Candidates are strongly advised to verify that their National Identification Number details are accurate before initiating profile creation. Incorrect NIN information may result in avoidable difficulties during registration and the examination process,” the board stated.
JAMB also disclosed that registration for the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry examinations could commence at any time, urging prospective candidates to use the current window to cross-check and correct their personal information where necessary
The examination body further cautioned that opportunities to amend personal details after registration are often limited and may not accommodate all requests.
Candidates are encouraged to take full responsibility for the accuracy of their details from the outset, as not all correction requests can be granted,” JAMB added.
The board called on all candidates to cooperate by ensuring proper documentation, noting that this would help guarantee a smooth, transparent, and hitch-free 2026 UTME and Direct Entry registration exercise.
📍JAMB’S EXPECTATIONS FOR ANYONE SITTING FOR 2026 UTME
- Age & citizenship: You must be at least 16 years old by the time you would be admitted and you have to be a Nigerian citizen (or a recognised resident).
- O‑Level credits: A minimum of five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, etc.).
- National Identification Number (NIN): Your NIN is mandatory; without it you can’t generate a profile code or complete registration.
- Accurate personal data: When you create your profile, make sure name, date of birth, gender, state of origin and LGA match the records at NIMC. Any mismatch will cause delays.
- Valid email & phone: Provide a unique email address and a mobile number that will receive the registration code and exam updates.
- Four institution choices: You must select four tertiary institutions (university, polytechnic, college of education, or IEI) in order of preference.
