The Federal Government has directed all tertiary institutions to temporarily suspend students who repeatedly test positive for drugs.

Below are the major resolutions and highlights from the meeting:

▪️ Minimum admissible score for Universities fixed at 150. This means the minimum score any UNIVERSITY can accept should not go below 150. It does not mean 150 UTME score automatically qualifies you for ADMISSION.

▪️ Colleges of Nursing minimum score pegged at 150 i.e to gain admission into any College of Nursing Sciences, you must have a minimum of 150.

▪️ Polytechnics minimum score fixed at 100 i.e entering into POLYTECHNICS demands at least 100 in UTME score

▪️ Institutions are not allowed to admit beyond approved quotas i.e every institution has a limit to a number of applicants they must admit into each department, they must not admit beyond it.

▪️ Candidates must accept admission within four weeks of offer i.e if they offer you ADMISSION and you don't accept it on JAMB CAPS in 4 weeks, the ADMISSION will automatically be forfeited and withdrawn.

▪️ Public Universities admission deadline fixed for October 31, 2026 i.e All universities including Federal and States Universities must finalize their admission by the 31st of October, 2026. Admission ends after this date. Please, take note.

▪️ Polytechnics admission deadline fixed for November 30, 2026 i.e all Polytechnics must admit all the applicants before the 30th of November, 2026 because admission ends by then.

▪️ Monotechnics and Colleges of Education deadline fixed for December 31, 2026 i.e specialized institution Federal College of Agriculture, Navy School, College of Legislative Studies, and Colleges of Education must all finalize their admission by the 31st of December. Admission ends after this date

▪️ Change of Course/Institution portal to be activated after the mop-up examination i.e JAMB withdrew some UTME RESULTS recently, JAMB will still conduct MOP-UP EXAMS for them. PORTAL for a change of institution/course, and printing of original JAMB (UTME) results will only be activated after their exams.

▪️ Uploading of O’Level results continues within approved timelines i.e Uploading of WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB results will continue till when WAEC and NECO will still release their results after this year's WAEC and NECO exams.

▪️ Institutions expected to begin Post-UTME and screening announcements immediately after the meeting i.e institutions will start selling POST UTME FORMS anytime from now, some may even start selling it tomorrow being TUESDAY.

▪️ National University Commission (NUC) has completely scrapped the TOP-UP/HND conversion programme i.e all those with HND that used to convert to B.SC, NUC has scrapped the TOP-UP/CONVERSION program. If you possess HND certificate and you wish to have a B.Sc certificate, it is either you enroll for a normal degree program as a full-time student or as a part-time student or as a sandwich or open distance learning. No other means again.
