and Weather
Today at work, I asked one of my students, "What can I do to help you with writing he dates on your worksheet.

Student: Ms Osas, you can just write the dates on a small piece of paper and give us we don't forget.

Me: are you suggesting that I do that every morning? Because, I have written the long and short date on.

Another student: that is not fair, she can remind us a few times and we will never forget again.

At this point, I began to recall how I always sing about writing their names and their short dates on every activity page they get.

Discipline in Early Years from the Homefront.

An early years teacher is always excited to have a disciplined child/children in their class at the beginning of the school year. This makes the teaching- learning process very interesting and easy. But when faced with children who are either strong-willed or might have Social, Emotional and Behavioural Disorders (SEBD), it rests now on the teacher and the school community to do all that they can to teach the child(ren) responsible behaviour and to manage their feelings.

Some of us adults have suffered from different physical punishments as a way of being disciplined by our parents. Therefore, we continue to do same to our children which has done more harm than good.

Punishments or inflicting pain on a child to stop them from misbehaving only teaches them that solving problems with violence is OK. This is learnt from the homefront as the children watch their parents use physical violence against them.

Discipline means to teach or train someone to obey rules or a code of behaviour. Adults are meant to teach and model good behaviour to children, whether as parents, teachers or caregivers.

TO DISCIPLINE THE CHILD IS A COMMAND TO LOVE- Episode 1

As a parent or a teacher, one of your jobs to teach your children to behave. It's a job that takes time and patience. But, it helps to learn effective and healthy discipline strategies. How do you correct the child? Is it as a parent or as a buddy? And why should the child take you seriously?

Keep in mind that children has the right to good guidance from their early years whether at home, at school or when they go out.
