Dear Parents,
Did you know crawling builds the foundation for handwriting? Yes, crawling. Crawling isn't just moving around or exploring. It is more than that. It is your child strengthening their bodies, their shoulders, and wrists.
It is natures way of preparing your child for future activities such as writing.
When your child crawls, they're developing:
✓ Shoulder strength (for steady arm control)
✓ Arm and wrist stability (for pencil grip)
✓ Hand strength (for holding and controlling the pencil)
✓ Bilateral coordination (using both hands together)
✓ Core stability (for sitting upright at a desk)
These aren't separate skills, they're all connected. Strong bodies support confident learners.
If your child skipped crawling, don't worry.
You can still build these foundational skills through play:
• Crawling through tunnels or under tables
• Wheelbarrow walks (you hold their legs while they walk on hands)
• Climbing at the playground
• Floor activities like puzzles, drawing, or building blocks
The goal isn't perfection, it's giving your child opportunities to strengthen their body in ways that support learning later.

Dear Parents.
Gentle Parenting just isn't made for typical African parents, especially those in lagos.
Lagos traffic will frustrate you. You know that moment when Lagos traffic steals every ounce of patience you had left, and you walk into crayon art on your freshly painted walls?
Yeah. We see you.
Here's what no one tells you: parenting after 3 hours in traffic isn't about being perfect. It's about showing up — even when you're running on fumes.
You snapped? You can fix it. Your child doesn't need perfect parents. They need present ones.
Drop a 🚗 if Third Mainland, Lekki-Epe, or Apapa traffic has ever tested your last nerve.
💬 What's your biggest parenting struggle after a long commute? Let's talk about it in the comments.

Presently, it may be just play in the of tickles, laughter, and fun.
But what we’re really teaching in these moments is much bigger.
When a child says NO and we pause, listen, and stop,
we are showing them that their voice matters, even when the moment feels lighthearted.
That lesson doesn’t end in childhood.
It becomes the strength to say NO later in life.
To hold that NO under pressure.
To trust their instincts when something doesn’t feel right.
Boundaries learned early become protection for the future.
And it begins with the adults they trust the most.
Respect a child's NO today, so they can stand by it tomorrow.
Save this. Share this with a parent or caregiver who needs to read it.

Dear Parents, Children need discipline, not just punishments that teach nothing.
Punishments instil fear but do no real correction or teaching.
Let's make that shift towards discipline today.
Teachers/ Educators, this applies to you as well.

Dear Parents,
Kids don’t automatically know how to apologise just because we tell them to.
Apology is a learned skill — and most times, it’s a copied behaviour.
Children learn through modeling, repetition, and repair.
Not lectures. Not threats. Not guilt.
We don’t need to abandon firmness.
We just need to show accountability in action.
When we apologise for our own mistakes, kids begin to understand what empathy and responsibility truly mean.
