The Supreme Court has spoken today on the ADC leadership dispute. They ordered that the matter be returned to the Federal High Court for determination.

While we respect the Court as the final arbiter, we must also speak honestly about what this means for our party and our democracy.
Prolonged Uncertainty Hurts the Party
Sending the case back to the Federal High Court means more months of litigation. ADC cannot plan, mobilize, or campaign effectively while its leadership question remains in limbo. Members are left confused, supporters are left frustrated, and opponents benefit from our distraction.
It Undermines Internal Party Resolution
When every disagreement runs to court, and then bounces between courts, we teach politicians that judicial delay is a strategy. That weakens party discipline and makes reconciliation harder.
It Risks Voter Apathy and Institutional Fatigue
Nigerians are tired of endless court cases deciding who leads political parties. Each time leadership is tied up in legal battles, faith in the democratic process drops. Today it is ADC at the Federal High Court . Tomorrow it will be another party. The judiciary must remain the last resort, not the first battleground.

Let me be clear, we will abide by the law and pursue justice at the Federal High Court. But we also call on all ADC and TCM members to remember that the real judgment will come from the people. No court can substitute for unity, grassroots work, and a clear vision for Nigeria.

ADC will survive this. Our focus now is to close ranks, respect the process, and prepare for the verdict of Nigerians at the ballot.

The Excellency Alh Atiku Abubakar has declared that no 2027 presidential aspirant will step down in the African Democratic Congress presidential race, adding that all aspirants will present themselves freely.

Atiku, in a statement released on Tuesday by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, called on Nigerians to resist efforts by the All Progressives Congress to intimidate and weaken the opposition.

Ex. Atiku Abubakar comments came amid speculation that he is facing pressure to step aside for a Southern candidate to emerge as the ADC’s flag bearer in the upcoming election against President Bola Tinubu.

Atiku added that if anyone should step down, it is President Bola Tinubu, whose leadership he described as a growing national liability.
