GLOBAL HAND WASHING DAY
HAND HYGIENE FOR ALL
Every Year Global Handwashing Day is observed on 15 October.
A core belief of Global Handwashing is that everyone in the world can be empowered and motivated to protect their health and the health of others through handwashing with soap.
A global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives.
Keeping hands clean can prevent diarrhoeal illnesses and respiratory infections. We focus on the importance of handwashing with soap and water at home, within the community, and across the world.
The simple act of handwashing improves your health and the health of others. Correct handwashing means we get sick less and most importantly, we help prevent food-borne illness.
"Beat the virus by washing your hands with soap under running water for at least 20- 30 seconds"
