My friend lost a business because she was not available to remedy a situation and her staff couldnโt handle it.
I really felt bad for her because that particular client has been a stable source of revenue for her business and guess what happened? One of her employees didnโt do what he was supposed to do for the client, another one that is meant to ensure the work was done also didnโt do that, an issue came up at the client site and everything escalated. Before she could show up to handle the client, issues went out of hand!
This has always been a challenge for my friend, nothing happens in her business without her instructions. Even though she has people working for her, she feels like she does all the work herself. Business is practically on-hold in her absence.
The worst case is that because she is so engrossed in ensuring that things should work as expected, she never gets time to think of how to grow the business. Even though she knows there is a need for growth and she has flickers of ideas in her head, there is no time to work on the growth. she is just engrossed with running a business. She hardly gets time for herself and even her family! Now she is beginning to think entrepreneurship isn't for her!

It's the first week of work for some business owners, the second week for some people. January typically comes across as a quiet month in different ways. Largely because of the spending associated with the festive period and everyone is just trying to get back on their groove๐.
However, the quiet nature of the month can be leveraged and made useful. There are foundational things you can do while it is quiet that will set your business up for success all year round.

This image from literally sums up one if my key takeaways from the life series event hosted by Mrs Ibukun Awosika yesterday ( I am such a learner๐, will share more stories later)
Many speakers shared how they managed their businesses with 100% integrity and how it has paid off. Either by opening new doors or keeping them firmly rooted in the business.
Mrs Awosika also said, ' Everything you do in life, you are leaving a trail, and that trail follows us wherever we go'
As a business owner, I want to encourage you to do your business with integrity, you will never no when it will be the only key you have to open a new door you desire.
In dealing with your customers, show integrity. Don't promise what you can't deliver. This is one key to customer dissatisfaction. Apart from your business loosing revenue from the customer and other potential ones you might get if the transaction had made him/her happy, you also create bad reputation for yourself. That alone is a business killer.
If your customer retention rate in your business is low or you get lots of complaints from customers about your business. You need to be in my Masterclass coming up on December 19th. Let's create processes to constantly 'wow' your customers together.
