This is where cultural intelligence comes in.
In corporate etiquette when you meet someone you dont know personally, especially in a corporate setting, conference, or public event, don’t jump straight to calling them by their first name.
Start with Mr, Ms., Mrs., Dr., or their professional title + surname. Not “Hello Tony” or "good morning first name" especially when you’ve never met before.

And most importantly, always study the culture of where you are. A culturally intelligent person will know that in Africa, we do not call elders by their first name, no matter the familiarity, let alone in a corporate setting.

This is what we do at The Etiquette School as we believe that first impression matters.
In cases where you are unsure, begin with respect, familiarity may come later.
Our Social and Cultural Awareness class is on, send us a message let's begin this journey with you and even your little ones.

This is August. Let your words be sweet, your tone be soft, and your presence be respectful.

Etiquette isn't old-fashioned. It's timeless.

Every conversation presents two opportunities:
one to be heard and another to truly understand.

In a world where everyone is eager to respond, active listening is becoming a rare and powerful skill. It builds trust, strengthens relationships, prevents misunderstandings, and creates space for meaningful connection.

This week, don't just listen to reply. Listen to understand. Don't just hear people, make them feel heard. You may discover that the greatest impact you make isn't through the words you speak, but through the attention you give.

We often think first impressions are about appearance, but they're really more about presence. Before people remember your qualifications, they remember how you made them feel. Before they hear your full story, they've already begun forming an opinion based on your attitude, your confidence, your communication, and your authenticity.

Sometimes, the first impression people have of us isn't formed during our first conversation. It's formed through the standards we consistently uphold, the value we consistently give, and the character we consistently display.

First impressions don't just open doors professionally. They shape friendships, partnerships, collaborations, interviews, business opportunities, and everyday interactions. And while you may have the chance to change someone's opinion over time, not every opportunity comes with a second introduction.

This week, be intentional about how you show up. Your next conversation could be the beginning of something remarkable.

Understanding and practicing social etiquette is essential for maintaining good friendships.
At The Etiquette School, we teach children basic manners, such as being polite, proper self introduction, showing respect during conversations, and proper handshake.

Proper etiquette helps in fostering positive interactions and building respect.
These skills not only contribute to their social well-being but also enhance their emotional intelligence and ability to navigate complex social landscapes.

Register your children for this life transforming experience.

"A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." _ Proverbs 17:22

Joy is more than an emotion. It's healing. Smiling, laughing, and joyous heart can ease stress, relax the body, and lift the spirit.
Joy is contagious... spread it!

Habits are the invisible architecture of daily life.

Pick one habit to build into your day (e.g. morning prayer, journaling, exercise, etc.)
Small habits add up to big results.

Perspective is the way you see, understand, and interpret situations, experiences, and life events, and how that understanding shapes your responses.
A wise perspective turns pressure into purpose and obstacles into stepping stones. Failure becomes feedback, not a final verdict.
Have a great perspective this week!

Small gestures, big impacts!
Saying 'please ' and 'thank you ' can brighten someone's day.
At The Etiquette School, we believe kindness is always in style, never outdated.
