FAS change makers Young students on a mission to create change in the world

28/05/2026

We used sachet water nylons and old denim jeans.
**And we changed everything.**

On World Menstrual Hygiene Day, the SDG Club of FAS Schools handcrafted menstrual purses for the girls in our school made entirely from recycled materials, given completely free.

No budget. No factory. Just young people who looked at waste and saw worth.

Every girl deserves to manage her period with dignity. Every student deserves to know that their voice and their hands can make a difference.

This is what the SDGs look like in real life. 🟣

This heartfelt speech by Fadare Oluwasefunmi reminds us never to be sorry for being girls —
not sorry to lead,
not sorry to speak,
not sorry to open doors and change the world. 💪💫

On this International Day of the Girl Child, we celebrate courage, confidence, and the unstoppable power of girls everywhere. 🌍💖

🌍 International Day of the Girl Child 2025

Theme: “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis”

Today, we join the world in celebrating the power, resilience, and leadership of girls everywhere.
As girls and changemakers, we are reminded that we matter more than ever — our voices, ideas, and actions are shaping a better, fairer, and more sustainable world.

At Fas Schools, we proudly celebrate our girls who are at the forefront of leading change — from advocating for equality and education, to driving innovative projects that make a real difference in their communities and beyond.

Together, we reaffirm our commitment to empower every girl to rise, to lead, and to transform challenges into opportunities for growth and impact.

✨ Here’s to every girl — strong, smart, and unstoppable. ✨

✨ The countdown is still on ✨
Every girl deserves the chance to dream, learn, and thrive — yet many still face challenges such as limited access to education, gender-based violence, and inequality in opportunities.

As we count down to International Day of the Girl Child (Oct 11), let’s raise our voices, share their stories, and commit to change. 💪💜

Today the SDG Club of FAS COMPREHENSIVE COLLEGE celebrates World Book Day by organising some activities for the Nursery class of the same school.

These activities were geared towards, promoting a reading culture in children, reading for pleasure and learning for fun.

The selected members of the club took turns to read to the pupils and also engaged them in activities like drawing.

The children were asked to illustrate in paper, what they want to become in the future.

The judges were able to pick four beautiful illustrations that represent their dreams.

The theme for this year's Book Day is "Read Your Way"

The FAS change-makers are set to create a World where every child has the right to quality education that sets them up for a brighter future.

As the world makes preparations for Christmas, the FAS change-makers are not left behind.

In a bid to create a pollution-free environment, we are creating a Christmas tree 🌲 from our used plastic bottles and other waste materials like the wrappers used for exchange of gifts in the school.

The best way to keep our environment clean and free from hazards is to recycle ♻️ our waste like this.

Merry Christmas 🌲in advance

To address environmental hazards and pollution, the SDG Club of FAS Comprehensive College has decided to recycle plastic bottles into waste bins.

This initiative supports SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being, and SDG 13 - Climate Action.

Together, we can make the world a better place and create the change we desire.
