RAMADAN COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVE

The Council of Oke-Ogun Visionary Leaders is pleased to announce a new community-focused initiative designed to strengthen trust, promote security awareness, and foster grassroots engagement across Oke-Ogun during the holy month of Ramadan.

This year, beyond the conventional Ramadan lecture, we are introducing a strategic Ramadan Community Engagement Programme where the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of each Local Government in Oke-Ogun or the officer next in command, will personally anchor the engagement session within their respective divisions.

The objective is clear: to use the Ramadan period as an avenue for meaningful dialogue between the Police and the masses. Each session will address one of the prevailing challenges commonly experienced within the divisions, providing practical guidance, promoting civic responsibility, and strengthening cooperation between security agencies and the communities they serve.

As we all know, the Police are partners in progress. This initiative creates an open platform for interaction, understanding, and renewed commitment to peace and public safety.

We are proud to announce that Saki West Local Government will host the maiden edition of this initiative on 25th of this month at Banusho Sango Road Saki. During the Council chapter's courtesy visit to the Police Station, the Divisional Police Officer warmly welcomed the idea, describing it as “exactly what our community needs” a grassroots-driven approach to real and lasting change.
This marks the beginning of a broader movement across Oke-Ogun.

A man like you is too great to be celebrated in just one day, Sir. Your impact, your dedication, and your love for your people make every day an opportunity to honor you. Though the date of your birthday has passed, the celebration of your life and legacy can never be late, because true heroes are remembered at all times.

You may not be at home physically right now, but we feel you at home. We feel your heart in Saki, we feel your soul in Oke Ogun. You have proven time and again that true love for one’s land is not measured by where the body is, but where the spirit dwells. And your spirit is always with us, in Saki, in Oke Ogun.

Thank you, Sir, for loving your hometown so passionately. Thank you for standing firm for Saki, for Oke Ogun, and for all that concerns the growth and dignity of your people. Your name has become a source of encouragement, because you give us reasons to believe that with vision and commitment, a community can truly rise.

COVL CONDOLES WITH OFIKI COMMUNITY OVER THE DEMISE OF OLOTO

The Council of Oke Ogun Visionary Leaders (COVL) has expressed deep sadness over the passing of the Oloto of Ofikiland, HRM Sunday Adeoye Teller (III).

In a condolence message, Asiwaju Raheem Afeez Sekooni, General Coordinator of COVL, described the late monarch as a visionary leader who worked tirelessly for the development of Ofikiland.

Asiwaju Sekooni commiserated with the family of the departed monarch, the people of Ofiki, and the entire Oke-Ogun community, praying that GOD GRANTS THEM THE FORTITUDE TO BEAR THE LOSS.

UPDATE ON OUR VISIT TO THE PALACE OF THE AJORIWIN OF IRAWOLAND

Last week, the Council of Oke-Ogun Visionary Leaders (COVL) had the privilege of visiting the Palace of the Ajoriwin of Irawoland as part of our ongoing efforts toward Oke-Ogun Vision 2040.

During our visit, we presented our plans to establish recreational centers across all local governments in Oke-Ogun, an essential part of our vision for a thriving and well-developed region. We are pleased to announce that Atisbo Local Government has been chosen as the starting point for this initiative, with Irawo as the designated site for the first recreational center.

His Royal Majesty, along with his esteemed high chiefs, warmly received us and expressed their full support and cooperation in making this vision a reality. Their encouragement further strengthens our determination to transform Oke-Ogun into a region that stands proudly alongside the great cities of the world.

This is our vision, and with God’s grace and our collective efforts, it will happen.

REPORT ON OUR VISIT TO THE PALACE OF THE AARE OF AGO-AARE

Yesterday, we had the honor of visiting the Aare of Ago-Aare to discuss our shared vision for Oke-Ogun Vision 2040. His Majesty welcomed us with warmth and sincerity, reaffirming his dedication to the progress and development of Oke-Ogun.

During our discussions, the Aare of Ago-Aare offered valuable insights and expressed his excitement about our mission. He graciously accepted our invitation to serve as an adviser to our organization and to become a lifetime member of the Council of Oke-Ogun Visionary Leaders (COVL). His support is a testament to his commitment to the growth and prosperity of our region.

We also had the opportunity to present some of our upcoming projects for Ago-Aare, which, by God's grace, will soon take shape. His Majesty's encouragement further strengthens our resolve to push forward with these initiatives.
