Nigeria’s curriculum system has undergone important revisions, with NERDC publishing revised Basic Education and Senior Secondary curriculum resources. NERDC’s official curriculum portal provides curriculum documents for Primary 1–6 and JSS 1–3, while its publications section also provides curriculum and implementation resources.

The revised curriculum places greater emphasis on competencies, learning outcomes, foundational skills, national values, and practical preparation. NERDC has also described the renewed basic education curriculum as competency- and outcome-based, with teacher capacity building and implementation support forming part of the rollout.
