*How Possible Could This Be* ?
It happened on a calm Thursday afternoon in my classroom. I had just finished teaching when my twin-set students , the ever-smiling pair who were always glued to each other , they walked up to my desk.
“Aunty Susan,” one of them began, holding my hand shyly.
The second twin nodded eagerly and added, “We were talking… and we both agreed. You are the best teacher we have ever had.”
I blinked in surprise. “Ehn? Me?”
“Yes, ma!” they chorused. “We wish you could be the ONLY one to teach us all through our school years.”
For a moment, I just stared at the twins two bright faces full of sincerity and childlike love. Then I placed my hand on my chest dramatically and said, “Woow… how possible could that be?”
The twins giggled loudly, happy that they had shocked me.
I knelt a little to their height and said, smiling, “My dear twins, that is one of the sweetest things any student has ever said to me. I may not teach you forever, but I promise to always give you my very best while I’m here with you.”
The twins nodded, satisfied, and skipped back to their seats.
And as I watched them go, I carried their words in my heart , as a reminder that sometimes, the smallest voices give the biggest encouragement.
