Reading and writing go pari passu. If you have love for reading, there is every tendency that you'll become a great writer.
Jotting down points as you read is very essential. Points like: high sounding words , idiomatic expressions, phrasal verbs and figurative expressions among others. It is not enough to write them in your jotter you need to learn how to spell the words , how to pronounce them and you also need to look up their meanings in the dictionary ; by so doing, you are on your way to becoming a proficient writer.
Don't forget to jot down points whenever you flip through the pages of your favourite novel onwards.

Teaching children through the play - way method has been proven to be the most appropriate method. In the same way, introducing children to literature in a fun way, makes them actively involved and glued to such piece of work. They tend to remember every detail in the story line. Children can easily retell the story from their own point of view, thereby, fostering originality and creativity . Encouraging children to read other literatures in addition to the ones in the curriculum helps to expand their understanding of their fellow human beings , having in mind that the whole essence of literature is understanding : THE ENVIRONMENT, YOU AND I.
I beg you to try to read, at least, a page of your favourite novel.

Have you ever read a sentence or sentences without appropriate punctuation marks? Punctuation marks help to provide clarity to written language, thereby making it easier to read and understand. It also erases any form of ambiguity in written language .
Some examples of punctuation marks are :
Full stop
Comma
Question mark
Apostrophe
Exclamation mark
Colon
Semicolon
Caret etc.
In all these, the most difficult is the comma . If not properly placed, could distort the whole meaning of a piece of work.

Language acquisition entails : Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. In other words, one only has mastery of a particular language if he is able to marry the above skills. Reading as one of the skills in language acquisition has been delegated to the background despite its importance. It is by reading we come across high sounding words, their pronunciation, spellings , meanings and using them to construct sentences. Reading helps to broaden our idea of things and exposes us to different styles of writing.
Introducing children to educational and recreational reading materials help in no small measure to shape their cognitive ability into having inquiry skills, investigative skills and the ability to brainstorm among others.
