Why the rush to apply for a job??
I mean is there a time frame for submission when applying? 💁‍♀

Working as an Executive assistant to a Hiring Manager has opened my eyes to a lot of things. I have come to know the reasons why I keep being genuinely rejected or probably ghosted...

Sometimes we dont even take our time to go through the job description. We see a job post and once we look at the tittle we assume that its our niche and can deliver. 🤦‍♀
But things do not necessarily work like that.

You need to understand that every Job description has a pain point. Most times the pain point could be language preference, Knowledge of a particular CRM or Industry.

You need to know that your already written RESUME/CV or prepared cover letter do not address that pain point. That is why you are always advised to edit it. If after going through the Job description you feel connected to the role then you edit your cover letter.

Dont just copy and paste. It may succeed in taking you to an initial interview but it wont get you that offer letter.

Learn to follow simple instructions as well and stop doing what you feel the Hiring Manager will like. We have posted a job requesting for a not more than 2 minutes video and guess what? 🙂

Some sent over 4 minutes video, some sent a voice recording and all of that.
Little things actually do matter when applying for a role. And while hoping that our dream gig is on the way, we try to do the right things as well. 😊

Often times I hear people getting confused when it comes to INTEGRATION and AUTOMATION. I have been there and trust me I was confused at some point as well.

One way or the other we must have used our Bluetooth to connect to an MP3, a speaker or something of such. INTEGRATION is like connecting your phone to a Bluetooth device. Just as your phone and Bluetooth speaker need to establish a connection to work together, integration involves linking different software applications so they can communicate and function as a unified system.

AUTOMATION on the other hand, is the reason for INTEGRATION.

Now that you have succeeded in merging this Phone and Bluetooth device what do you want to achieve with that?

Just as you can always choose either to watch videos or play music with the device, that is how you MUST have a reason for integrating two softwares together.

It may interest you to know that you don't just wake up and start integrating softwares Nooo!!

For instance I want to integrate my SLACK into my ASANA as a VIRTUAL ASSISTANT, my aim is to ensure that I get notified on slack whenever I have a task assigned to me on Asana.

You see! I didn't just integrate, I also Automated. Integration is said to be useless if AUTOMATION IS NOT DONE.

I hope this piece helps someone and I hope you understand better the difference in them.

After paying and taking lots of courses nothing has changed, I dont have a Job and I haven't even started earning 😥

This is what a lot of us say and think often times but that is not how it works. I am not a tutor so I am the best person to tell you a few things experience has taught me.

Becoming that person you want to be is a JOURNEY! buying that car, building that house, becoming a billionaire, millionaire or a successful Tech Sis/Tech Bro is a JOURNEY that starts with the CLASSROOM. Taking that course or paying millions, and thousands for an online course is just a piece of the puzzle.

So I urge you to clear the thought that taking a course guarantees instant success or a high-paying job. I put it to you that if you start with this thoughts, DISSAPPOINTMENT would be the result you will get.

The result you want is not only gotten from paying and taking a course online. Ask yourself, after taking that course what did I do?? You need Hardwork, Dedication, Consistency, and a willingness to learn from failure to backup the course you have taken.

That thing that I have learnt in the Classroom or online, I need to know that;

-It is time for me to apply the skills and knowledge to real-world situations, network, and build relationships.

-No one succeeds alone in this life without the help or knowledge of someone else. So I need to keep connecting with people, ask questions always no man is an Island.

-Ensure that while taking the course I put up a positive attitude by setting goals.

Ask yourself, What do I plan to achieve after taking this course? Why am I taking it?

When you have provided answers, you then need to understand that success is a continuous journey, It never ends. It requires ongoing effort, learning, and growth.

Workflow tools are Important & helpful especially for start up companies and people who work remotely, like virtual assistants, telemarketers and so on.... These tools make it easy to see what needs to be done and manage various task in an organized manner.

Some popular workflow tools are Trello, Asana, Clickup, Monday.com, Jira and a lot more. If I am asked what this tools can do, I will say:

They are like a to-do list, but better!

They help you get things done and work with others smoothly.

For start-ups, these tools are a lifesaver.

They help increase efficiency, improve productivity, and save costs.

You can use them to assign tasks, track progress, and communicate with your team.

As someone who wants to work remotely, I would advice you make your research about these tools, learn how they work. Take your time and play around it so that you become very good in it.

I am not saying you should learn how to use all the Tools that aids workflow process 😅 Knowledge is transferable especially when it has to do with tools.

As time goes on, I will give a detailed explanation on how each of these tools work. Till then, Keep learning, Keep upskilling and Keep being the best at what you do cause you never know the tool your next company will be using 😘
