Football fans can be stubborn. Arsenal fans swear Thierry Henry is untouchable. United fans cling to Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney. Chelsea fans will fight to the death for Eden Hazard or Didier Drogba. But here’s the uncomfortable truth none of those fanbases want to admit: Mohamed Salah belongs in the same conversation—whether they like it or not.

Look at what he’s done. Over 150 league goals, three Golden Boots, a Champions League, and a Premier League title that dragged Liverpool out of a 30-year drought. Salah has delivered more consistently than Hazard ever did, he’s scored more league goals than Ronaldo managed in England, and he’s kept himself at the top longer than most of Rooney’s peak years. Arsenal fans love to talk about Henry’s beauty and style, but if we’re talking sheer impact and end product, Salah has matched it.

The difference is, Salah doesn’t have the flair or romance fans like to glorify. He’s not a showman, he’s an executioner. Everyone in the stadium knows what he’s about to do—cut inside on that left foot—and yet defenders are powerless to stop it. That kind of predictability paired with inevitability is what separates legends from highlights.

So let’s be real here. If you’re still arguing that Hazard was “better to watch,” fine. But Hazard never dominated the league the way Salah has. If you’re saying Ronaldo was more talented, sure—but Ronaldo didn’t stay in England long enough to leave the kind of lasting footprint Salah already has. And if you’re saying Henry was more graceful, no doubt—but Salah’s relentless output puts him right in Henry’s shadow, maybe even touching it.

The fact is simple: you can argue style all day, but when history is written, Salah won’t just be remembered as “Liverpool’s star.” He’ll be remembered as one of the defining players of the Premier League era. And if that makes Arsenal, United, and Chelsea fans uncomfortable, good. It should. Because deep down, they know it’s true.
