Every child can improve with the right support.
I have seen it happen over and over again πŸ’―πŸ’―.

You say, β€œSound it out…” πŸ“š

And with full confidence and absolutely no fear whatsoever, they say something completely different πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

Me: β€œWhat sound does β€˜m’ make?”
Learner: β€œBanana!” 🍌

Me: β€œBlend these sounds carefully `c a t`”
Learner: β€œElephant!” 🐘

Honestly, teaching little learners will humble you and make you laugh at the same time πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ’•.

But beyond the funny moments, this is a reminder that children are still learning to process sounds, language, memory, and meaning.

Early reading is not built overnight. It takes patience, repetition, consistency, and lots of playful learning experiences. πŸ’―πŸ“š

As we begin another week, I hope you remember that growth is not always loud. Sometimes, it looks like showing up tired but still giving your best. Sometimes, it looks like trying again, learning again, and choosing not to give up. πŸ’›

To every teacher pouring endlessly into little minds…
To every parent doing their best behind the scenes…
To everyone working hard daily, even when nobody claps for the effort…

You are doing better than you think 🌱✨
Keep on keeping on dear teachers and parents.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Wishing every member of Early Years Tribe family a peaceful, productive, and fulfilling week ahead πŸπŸ’•

We are playfully serious in the early years foundation stage because children learn best through playπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰.

Learning always comes alive in our classroom πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―.

There is this joy and excitement I get as a teacher when my learners already have a lot to say just by looking at the instructional materials.πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
The discussion automatically flows powerfully from both sides.πŸ‘πŸ‘

I taught a lesson on *Dangerous Objects* to my 3+ learners, and honestly, the conversations that came from that lesson were too beautiful to ignore.

Using simple instructional materials like a knife, scissors, wires, stapler, gas cylinder, lighter, etc, my learners immediately began sharing their thoughts even before the main lesson started.

β€œKnife can cut somebody.”
β€œLighter can burn.”
β€œWire can shock people.”
"Do not play with the scissors βœ‚οΈ, it can cut you".

The confidence, awareness, and critical thinking they displayed showed that meaningful learning becomes easier when children can SEE, RELATE, and CONNECT with what is being taught.πŸ’―πŸ’―

As teachers, appropriate learning resources do more than beautify a lesson, they spark curiosity, encourage conversations, build understanding, and make learning real for children.

Sometimes, the best teaching happens when we build on what children already know. πŸ’›πŸ“š

Who can relate with me?
Let's discuss in the comments.

Oh, my mouth is in pains!😸🀣
It looks like answering pupils' unending questions is becoming more taxing than teaching them πŸ˜¦πŸ˜€.

SCREENS ARE FAST REPLACING READING TIME πŸ“±πŸ“š

And honestly, it is easy to see why.

Cartoons, tablets, YouTube videos, and games are designed to keep children constantly entertained. Everything moves quickly, colours flash rapidly, sounds change instantly, and children receive immediate stimulation.

Books are different.
Books require children to slow down.
To listen.
To imagine.
To pay attention.
To think.

Naturally, many children will lean toward what feels easier and faster.

This is why intentional reading routines matter now more than ever.

We cannot completely remove screens from children’s lives, but we must be careful that screens do not completely replace meaningful learning interactions at home.

Even 15 quiet minutes with a book daily can change a child’s relationship with reading πŸ“š.

Reading at home does not have to be perfect.
It simply needs to be consistent.

Happy reading!

Sight words can be a real hurdle for young readers because they often refuse to follow the "rules" of phonics.

To help my pupils aged 3+ navigate sight words, I explain that they have to "look and read" the words rather than blending the sounds.

As children make progress in reading, they can begin to figure out the tricky part of the words.

Reading is a journey and consistency is key πŸ—οΈπŸ—οΈ.
