Preacher: Rev. Fr. Jonathan Chibuzo Ndubuisi
The life of Christ teaches us: before we begin anything, we pray.
The apostles waited prayerfully, it wasn’t just idle waiting. Our prayer life needs careful attention and watchfulness.
Waiting with God in prayer is never wasted time. After the Ascension, the apostles’ waiting brought results - the Holy Spirit.
Delay is not rejection; sometimes delays carry unique blessings. In times of waiting, stay active, not idle. Stay awake in prayer.
Work hard, improve yourself, and pray as you wait for God’s answer.

- Today’s message reminds us of the joy hidden in suffering.
- Every one of us carries a burden. no one is free from struggle.
- Suffering often comes as a call to pause, reflect, and realign our lives.
- Be your own critic: observe yourself, acknowledge your weaknesses, and correct yourself.
- When embraced with faith, suffering becomes a teacher that draws us closer to Christ and to true joy.

- We set out with hope, but often meet confusion along the way. At such moments, God draws nearer and stays with us.
- The disciples' journey to Emmaus, was one of confusion, yet Christ came into their midst. Each of us faces times of disappointment, struggle, and despair. In those moments, God is close.
- Even in times of enjoyment and affluence, we must remember God’s presence. In every state of life, God turns our challenges into hope and faith.
- Do not allow your challenging moments to define you. Christ works and walks with us, even in our confusion.
- When facing illness, loss of a job, or feeling abandoned, remember Christ is walking beside you. In moments of joy and abundance, remain grateful and attentive to God’s presence.
- May we always recognize Christ walking with us, even when our eyes are dimmed by confusion. The joy of Easter reminds us that despair is never the final word, Christ transforms it into hope.

Preacher: Rev. Fr. Jonathan Chibuzo Ndubuisi
- Today we celebrate the mercy of God upon mankind.
- God’s mercy is limitless - no sin is greater than His mercy.
- The disciples shared their possessions in common, teaching us that what we have is for others too.
- This act of charity led people to call them Christians.
- Charity breeds unity and togetherness.
- Just as Christ greeted His disciples with peace, we are called to be ambassadors of peace.
- Despite Peter’s denial, he became the leader of the apostles - proof that our sins are not counted against us when we return to God.
- Mercy is grace and forgiveness - unmerited, unfathomable, and free to all.
- Grace and effort are both needed for this Christian race.
- Forgiveness is costly and difficult, yet God commands us to keep forgiving.
- It means choosing peace over war, joy over sadness.
- We forgive not because people deserve it, but for our own peace and because we are Christians.

Preacher: Rev. Msgr. Dr. Francis Nwaiwu
- The Lenten journey began on Ash Wednesday and led us into Holy Week. Today, we celebrate the greatest truth of our faith: Christ’s Resurrection.
- Even though Judas betrayed Him and Peter denied Him, Christ still died and rose to fulfill His mission.
- He endured pain, suffering, and the journey to Calvary, giving His life on the cross out of love for mankind.
- His death brought despair to the disciples, but His resurrection brought joy and renewed hope.
- Mary Magdalene went to the tomb intending to anoint His body, but instead encountered the empty tomb, the first sign of the Resurrection.
- In haste, she ran to tell the Apostles. That was the first announcement of Christ’s victory over death.
- By proclaiming the empty tomb, Mary became the first preacher of the Resurrection.
- They thought crucifying Christ would end His mission, but it was the beginning of a new journey.
- Our celebration today reminds us that the Christian calling is built on this foundation: we must wear the crown through the cross.
- The Resurrection is not just history; it is the living hope that transforms despair into joy, weakness into strength, and death into life.

Preacher: Rev. Fr. Jonathan Chibuzo Ndubuisi
St. Paul advises us to watch our attitudes towards our brothers and sisters.
The story of Lazarus presents a hopeless state, but the arrival of Christ brought life and hope.
When cast down or feeling hopeless, see Christ calling you to Himself for solace.
Remember that Christ is the resurrection and the life, the point is to believe in Him.
Christ is the one who can translate and transform hopelessness into hopeful expectation and life.
In situations, conditions, and challenges that bring hopelessness - even in the worst of them all - Jesus says He is aware of them. Just exercise a little faith and watch Him act.
Martha was asked if she believed. She said, “Yes.” Her faithlessness was changed into faithfulness and hope.
We ought to beg for the Spirit of God to come upon us, to transform us and give us joy, rewriting our history.
Ask for the courage to believe in God and, in silence, see the moving hand of God.

Preacher: Rev. Fr. Jonathan Chibuzo Ndubuisi
The first reading today presents to us the anointing of David as king.
One significant takeaway is that God does not see the way man sees.
Samuel was impressed when he saw Jesse’s first son, but God said he was not the one.
Do not be moved by appearances; follow the leading of the Spirit.
When God is involved in your case, it becomes a breakthrough.
Today, we often elect leaders based on what they present to us, even by appearances. The story of David becoming king proves that we should deeply discern those we choose to lead, not by mere appearances or personal benefits.
We have allowed injustice, bribery, corruption, and other vices to blind us. Jesus has come to open our eyes from this blindness, just as He opened the eyes of the blind man in the gospel reading. The question is: are we ready to talk to God?
Growing in faith is growing in maturity.
Our response to challenges and situations matters a lot.

Today, the essence of water is brought to the fore. The story of the Samaritan woman reminds us of the need to seek after the eternal water that only Christ can give.
Jesus desires to break the barriers we have set-cultural, social, and personal. The question remains: Are we ready?
By this gospel, Jesus broke the barrier between Jews and Samaritans, showing us that His love knows no boundaries.
When we are truly converted, we are not just receivers of grace, we are called to become evangelizers, sharing the good news with others.
To be a Christian is not limited to the walls of the church. We are called to live it out both in church and at home, in our daily actions and relationships.

Obedience to the will of God helps us in our journey through life. When we remain faithful, we will be triumphant in this Lenten journey.
When the road gets tough, remember that Jesus is always there to lighten our path. Accepting Christ’s mission means leaving your comfort zone for the place He will show you, just as Abraham did.
Our response to God’s call reflects the meaning of the song we often sing: “Abraham’s blessings are mine…”
Remaining steadfast in God’s will brings forth His goodness.
Leave behind bad habits and all that draws you back, and follow Christ.
The grace of God sustains us, enabling us to respond positively to His call.
Christ’s story and life’s journey reveal to us that there is no gain without pain. Victory is certain through the cross.
Walking with Christ to Calvary gives us the grace of His resurrection light.
Let us not only fast from food but also fast from vices.

Preacher: Rev. Fr. Justin Chinamerem Jideofor
Today's readings present many pointers to this penitential season of Lent.
We are now on a retreat in preparation for the joy of Easter, presented with choices and decision-making.
Temptations are bound to happen, but they are not sins in themselves. They become sins only when we fall into them.
Eve became a victim of temptation because of the choice she made.
Abraham, however, took a stand in his faith. Even when tempted, he overcame because his choice was rooted in faith. Job too, when tempted, stood firm in his faith.
Often, Christ tests our faith to see how strong we are.
The first reading reminds us that not all knowledge is beneficial for our growth and development.
Sin distances us from God. Adam and Eve once enjoyed His presence and even His voice, but they lost this privilege when they sinned.
The temptations of Christ touch all the human senses, reminding us to be careful and watchful.
Temptation arises from desires and cravings.
Live according to your means and your size.
Learn to say “no” when the need arises.
Christ conquered temptation through His deep-rootedness in the Word of God. Equip yourself now with Scripture.
Our choices help us to stand against or fall into temptations.
Today is an invitation to scriptural study and prayer, so that we may equip ourselves against temptation.
