Dear Governor Bago,
My prayer for you, from your days as House of Reps member till date has been:May Bago succeed.
Though you're now attempting to dance, barefoot, on broken bottles, I still beseech Allaah to make you succeed.
How do you succeed in this situation? Via a U-turn! Islaam allows retreat during battle for a rethink and restrategising.
May you do so in this case and stay unhurt, without causing anyone to bleed too.
If any scholar/cleric makes dangerous, blasphemous or simply erroneous remarks capable of disturbing the peace, trust Niger State scholars/clergy to halt them.
You may have heard of how Adam Ya'qoub aka Adam Berger was shown the red card and chased off the scholarly pitch of Niger State when he walked on egg.
The late heretic in Bida who justified his adulterous association with many women was drilled and silenced when he surrendered, agreeing his arguments were porous, baseless, in fact.
Our State can, as it has always done, check individuals' excesses without witch-hunt which your current move suggests.
This form filling before qualifying to preach or presentation of khutbah/sermon for scrutiny before (dis)approval is a terrible step.
I so love you, I found it impossible to keep mute on this. I fervently pray for your success, so I will subtly hold you back when I see you about plunging into a crock infested water.
