This is the written version of the poem presented by our students yesterday, 28/5/2025 at Paiko Town Hall. Under the program, "Women Advocating for Gender Solution and Mentorship (WAGS-M)"
THEME of the poem: Menstrual dignity and empowerment
(Chorus)
No shame in the flow, let dignity arise, WAGS-M's call we answer, beneath these open skies. For health and for respect, together we will stand, empowering every woman throughout this precious land.
(Verse 1)
The body's gentle rhythm, a cycle ever true, a woman's inner wisdom, in all that she will do. From Paiko's learning haven, Faidatul's guiding light, we gather here with purpose, to make what's hidden, bright.
(Verse 2)
The whispers and the shadows, the stigmas that remain, they bind, and they oppress us and cause such needless pain. But knowledge is our power, a truth we must impart, to break the chains of silence and heal each wounded heart.
(Verse 3)
In faith's pure understanding, a wisdom we embrace, this natural occurrence has its own time and place. A blessing and a cleansing, a part of life's design, with reverence and honour, let its true meaning shine.
