*ISLAMIC TEACHING AND LEARNING SYLLABI IN BOTH JUNIOR AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS SECTION CALL FOR A REVIEW.*

Muslim children should learn the basic rudiments of their Religion in schools and not just the Independent Self Learning Topics, provided that Islamic Religious Studies is available in Nigerian Curriculum, there is need for a well detailed information about the Islamic creed. Orientalists might either be the author of those recommended Islamic textbooks and might not but what is debatable is that most Nigerian recognized examinations like WEAC, NECO and JAMB do not have a comprehensive religious curriculum from the Mistry of Education that support a true Faith of being a Muslim and the priority is not given to it like that of Math, English, physis, chemistry, biology and geography etc. This is peculiar to all Muslim children in government schools so far they have the least number and with the Islamic Faith.

You will agree with me that there is need for urgent review with the following points;

_Both old and the new Nigerian curriculum do not validate the exigency of ISLAMIC SALVATION which I was taught the opposite in Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) while I was in primary school at St. Andrews Demonstration, Oke_Ebo, Oyo, 2000/2005. How christian children understand the word salvation in CRK or CRS syllabus is not how Muslim children understand it in Islamic studies syllabus. There's need for urgent review.

_Inaccurate or careless use of terminologies in majority of the Islamic textbooks call for urgent review. Most of the Islamic textbooks where "Allah" is written instead of "Allaah" where Quran is written in lieu of Al_Qur'ān or Qur'ān says in place of Allaah says, need to be reviewed.

_Islaam is a Divine Religion which chooses its language as Arabic, hence, studying only Islamic studies in the higher institutions doesn't guarantee being a bonafide Islamic subject textbooks writer only if he will not quote from Al_Qur'ān and the Hadeeth of the Prophet

The only education that is not required your certificate before you will be employed into the posting is Islamic Education, you have the knowledge to embrace the practice of Islaam and hold the position of a good Muslim where there are many out of Faith.
